SOURCE: inner drive shaft is spinning on gearbox.

You may have torn the splinds on the drive shaft at the gearbox end.Remove and check. If there ok then the diff is your problem and its incased in the gearbox housing.

2010 Peugeot 207 gearbox drain/filler/level bungs

The drain plug is situated on the final drive casing at the rear of the transmission (plug may need a square or hex drive wrench).

There is no level plug - the correct qty of oil must be measured and then poured in.
If Petrol 1.9 ltrs, diesel 2.0.

The oil is 75/80w.

I have dismantled a Seagull outboard,it is all assembled except the bottom end where the propeller is. I had it together but the gearing did not mesh and the shaft moved back and forward 3 or4 mm.I found...

Look up Saving Old Seagulls and IGNORE the rubbish that some jokers have posted (Seagulls don't have an engine check light!) Most Seagulls have constant mesh gearing. Lubrication is by 140 grade gear oil. If you cannot get this, ST90, EP90 or Hypoy 90 will do, the important thing is to use a heavy oil NOT GREASE not even the semi-fluid grease used on weed-wackers (they have ball bearings but a Seagull has bronze bushes) The "clutch" on some Seagulls is basically a fork which puts the gears out of mesh, there are no clutch plates. Good luck!.

I am trying to replace the clutch disc in a 1994

please explain what you mean by trans axle?? Now in queens english we call it a drive shaft ??because the gearbox and diff unit are all in one ,so you want to remove the drive shafts first ?? well firstly before you jack vehicle up undo the big nuts in the middle of the wheel ,then jack it up so bottom of gearbox is about 1mt high ,Then drain gearbox oil and remove the front wheels ,unbolt front suspension by lower track control balljoint ,unbolt the front calipers and then with the big nut out of the way push the drive shaft back and pull the suspension so the drive shaft comes away ,Now you should only have to remove the big nut in the other side one ,and use a block and tackle on supporting the gearbox so it stays hanging in the air and when you have undone the ancillarys so to speak you can just pull gearbox back a bit on the front side and work through the gap .Now what i do here is a bit of a cowboy trick but it works well ,and thats to drill a hole through the bell housing where the clutch bolts are so you fit the new clutch finger tight on the bolts making sure that the clutch is more or less central then push the gearbox in and make sure it closes up without pulling it in with the bellhousing bolts .Then using a 3/8 drive socket set tighten the clutch bolts through the hole one at a time turning engine with a big screwdriver on ring gear through starter motor hole ,go round twice though to make sure they are tight because of the locating stud?? ,TWICE bolt it all up and job done ,shouldnt take more than 3 hrs on my own ,but a weekend mechanic??? maybe a day ,Not a difficult job just dirty and greasy

How to remove the gearbox from a 1999 suzuki swift car

disconnect battery remove it & its cradle
jack it up & drain gearbox oil
remove the wheel & undo the axle nut in the centre!
[do not remove it yet]
undo the bottom control arm at its pivot point under the axle then seperate them !
pull swiftly outward to remove the drive shaft from the gearbox!
now there is the gear selector & speedo & clutchcables & starter motor to diconnect & or remove
remove gearbox mount But support the motor from underneath
undo all the bolts around the gearboxes bellhousing!
use a pry or large flat bladed screwdriver to part the gearbox from the engine & lift gearbox up & out! its very tight squeeze in there!!
Im sure now that you regret asking lol
dont forget while its out you may aswell do the clutch
good luck!
Cheers Rob.

I don,t know how to check the gear oil in my 97 suzuki esteem manual transmission or how to add gear oil

The fill plug is on the left hand side of the diff casing just rearwards of where the left hand drive shaft exits the gearbox. You will need a 10mm square drive (a 3/8" ratchet is close, but you have to make sure it stays in the square) to undo it. The box should be filled to this level.

93 mazda protege clutch repair tips needed

to take out your drive shafts you first need to drain oil from gearbox.plug is on the bottom of box.when this is done remove wheels..take off your disc caliper (2 bolts).tie them up out of way.remove disc rotor(should just slide off).then you need to remove split pins from your steering rack(tierod).. 2 bolts where the part bolts to the strut.next is at base (lower control arm).you will see a bolt and nut(this will be tight to get out use a soft punch like copper or brass shaft to knock bolt out.dont damage thread).to replace this you have to make sure it sits in the right place or you will damage thread when you fit the bolt...when all this is done the hard part comes.the drive shaft is very tight in the gearbox due to a spring type circlip on the axle shaft.you have to wrench the shaft towards you to free it .some times you may have to get a very solid big flat screwdriver in between the gearbox and shaft to loosen past the clip.when it is free ,just slide out.when you have done what you need to do.assembly is just reversing whatyou have just done . to fill gearbox up you have to take out the speedo cable and speedo drive from the gearbox (at back off motor,1 little bolt).top up .you have a mark on the drive to tell you the level.hope this helps (have fun)
