I really doubt that your name is Peter Townsend.

99 land rover discovery hard starting when cold

Your Land Rover is no doubt fuel injected.maybe cold start injector. injects gasoline when starting in the cold, carburated vehicles used to have a choke to enrich air/fuel ratio when starting in cold.

Why wont ignition make contact 1998 range rover hse

Sounds like the ingnition switch or cylinder lock. Was the truck stolen?

If they removed the ignition switch off the back of the cylinder lock then that may be your problem, that may be the reason why you do not get the spring action at the end turn of the key. look at the rear of cylinder lock and see if switch is removed. The other problem may be the cylinder lock may be broken, remove the cylinder lock and see if the arm that turns the switch is broken.that would also cause the problem you are having,
Let me know the results. good day

My Lawn Tractor just clicks once instead of starting battery is good but it just clicks once craftsman 38" 12hp ohv

Check for power at the starter from the solenoid when the key is in the start position.. if you have power there it is the starter .. if not you probably have a safety switch malfunction . You can bypass them for testing purposes.

My rover 45 wont start when i turn the key it makes a screaching noise and wont fire up / petro /51 /52 plate

It is possible that this Range Rover is misfiring and needs a change of sparkplugs if it is screatching it is trying to start but cannot due to misfiring. If the plugs are good check the gapping on each pluf.

Not starting

if its a petrol check crank sensor, cam sensor, and check for spark.
Other very common issues on petrol 4.0 and 4.6 is cracked blocks and head gaskets if over heated.

My parking lights wont go off when i turn the car off

I had the same problem after an interior car wash. I looked all over the car for what might have caused the lights to stay on. On the Subaru Legacy, there is a parking light switch on the top of the steering column. Someone cleaning the steering column accidentally flipped the switch. The engineers that put the switch in a completely different place than the other lights and the button for the flashers did not think things through. Searching around. I did find the button for the front windshield defroster; it was nowhere near the differently shaped button for the rear defroster. The list of bad ergonomic design is a long one. Good car, though, for driving in the snow on hills.
