V6 fuel injected. losing power after 1st gear, very sluggish low rpms

Does this mean it runs OK @ higher RPM's??
If general loss of power all the way up, try unhooking exhaust to see if cat melted.
If it accelerates hard in 1st gear, then slows down, check the fuel pressure first.

Have you cat converter checked. If your exhaust smells like rotten eggs or sulphur, it's bad

i cant get that slang, DIff , gears, clutch to jibe. 1990 wrangler YJ
what does DONE mean.?
front or rear diff axle new, new transmission? what?
1500 to 1800 rpm 15 is engine stalled, or rpm of oil tanker ship.

got a MANUAL stick or automatic slush pump gear box?
but is no way to answer. you.
its a hydromatic A/T. right>? AUTO?
if yes,it has.
no electronics then. so clean AFT/ levels per operators guide not guessing? hot?
stall test pass (ask)
line pressure tests pass
kick down cable not stuck
or if M/t do say so, mine is, 5 owned..

but we only have one word here, sluggish to work with,
so that can be :
1: engine weak? (low rpms in all gears, and low power)
2: Trans slips (or flares) High rpm and low power (slip)

which is it?, the rpm in each gear answers that.
the FSM shows the range of rpm for each gear. ever seen a real FSM book? factory service manual.

Van stalls at low rpms but not all the time ?

If old van you have a carb. Jet plugged with trash. If you have fuel injection or throttle body injection, one or more of your jets is partially blocked. Try a cleaner added to your fuel tank. May end up replacing the part/s

Losing power going up hills

sounds pretty normal. what speed do you try out the passing gear? anything above 35-45 mph and it will feel like neutral. Passing gear is actually only 1st gear. When you press down the pedal, it forces the transmisson to shift into low gear.

Try cleaning the fuel injection system with seafoam and replacing the fuel filter. Look up seafoam on youtube. BTW really really really really bad idea running a vehicle on jack in gear.
