SOURCE: 1996 chavy van 1500 hard shift
Since all gears shift hard, and the transmission is in correctly (i assume) then it will be a linkage or spring type of problem in the shift mechanism or hook up to the trans. I also assume you have put back all the correct parts.... Last time i r/r a tranny that was like this, i didn't hook up the shift levers right... Rick

The trani is electronically controlled. without a diagnostic computer you are not going to know. It may be the speed sensors (for the trani.) but thats a guess. how long since the last trani service. Fluid level and condition can affect its perfomance. Good luck.

There is a recall on that issue. Call honda to see if you are still covered. There is a limit on mileage. If you qualify they will put a new tranny. Good luck

SOURCE: changing transmission
I was told by a wrecking yard mechanic that only Hyundai Accent 2000-2005 Automatic Transmissions are compatible, (interchangeable with one another).

Did you change the transmission filter and gasket as well as the transmission oil before running your truck.
