If there is no r-12 or freon in the system it wont come on. Try jumping the pressure switch. It's a 2 wire plug somewhere one the AC lines. Just pull it off and jump the wire end with another wire.If the clutch engages you need freon or R-12.

It could also be caused by a bad pressure switch. How long did you have the car before the AC stoped?

Lazydave is correct. If you have leak and the R134a refrigerant falls below a certain level, the clutch will not engage. But I doubt you have a leak since you just bought the vehicle and the A/C was working good when you purchased it.

How to move tensioner on 1991 chevy corsica

The tensioner is the smooth pulley(back side of the belt,no grooves)
Think it's a 15mm bolt, just "tighten the bolt" and the spring loaded tensioner will move The pulley is steel on the 4 cyl, plastic on the V-6 The tensioner bolt is left hand thread so it won't unscrew when you realese the tension.

90 chevy corsica blows warm air parked cold air when moving

A couple things to check. I would start with the last time you flushed the coolant system. Two do you know of or have added a fix a leak additive yourself, three have you ever had the thermostat replaced. look at the condition of the coolant WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD maybe the first thing in the morning, at the rad. not over flow bottle. If needed, flush the coolont at your local repair shop for proper disposal of used coolant. Maybe a clogged radiator or a thermostat not working properly

My 1996 chevy corsica has a wiper switch that is either slow or really fast would a switch from another 96 corsica that has the delay work with my 96 corsica? I found one at junkyard, dont want to get...

You will not be successful replacing just the switch. Cars with delay wipers utilize different wiper motors, and wiring harness's than cars without.

Air conditioning compressor does not enguage, 134a level is propper, 45psi low side, ot fuses blowen indicator shoews on on max and a/c position, but clutch not enguaged

unplug the wiring to the compressor and see if there is power in the plug if so then try spinning the a/c clutch by hand it should move verry freely and make no bearing sounds if it does make any bearing sounds or does'nt move at all then you have to replace the a/c compressor
