If you have a factory key the only place that can program is the dealer. You can go to locksmith or hardware store that can make a "cloned" key that will work in your car.

How do i disconnect my lost transponder key to my 2012 Dodge Avenger?

Call your local Dodge Service Dept. You probably will have to get your ECM reprogrammed and new keys. $200+ estimated

See if this guy can help. Its not Dodge directly but it may solve your problem..

Assuming you have one working key, by removing the chip from that key and placing it in close (key Head distance) proximity of the key hole will convince your ECM that its the right key. Transponder Chip Key Bypass How To For Any Car

2006 Renault Clio immobiliser wont reset

a toyota renault?
gota see that. must be the, bees knees?

tried both RKE, fobs, never have any car with just 1 fob.
ever.
or get stranded big time.
on jeep 3 fobs. so you are lucky.

on our cars, we dont have French cars, here ( i can one in 1964)
  • check all fuses first
  • then scan the PCM/BCM. and friends. a scan tool
see what error there are. DTC' errors./
my car will even dump a DTC as, "RKE fob corrupted data")
use 1 key at a time. then try the backup.
if it fails , make sure the ring has just Your key on ring. nothing else.
in my car, there are 2 immo receivers, one in door, and one in ignition
which tells me fast , if one transponder in key is bad.
I have 4 keys on, one is transponder only and one is clone junk parked.
id bet more owners are locked out 1000 times more than crooks,
its a real PITA. all this.
a big profit center to all evolved, to be sure.
chin-ching.....

luck be with you !

How does key fob work

Depending on the specification of your vehicle, the FOB generally serves one (or both) of the following functions:

1) Communicate with the vehicle's Keyless Entry system (operates central locking).
2) When inserted into the ignition, the transponder within the key will communicate with the vehicle's Body computer (BEM) to validate entry, before disengaging the immobilizer - allowing the vehicle to start.

When the key fob fails, you may lose functionality of the above systems.

Keyless entry failure - usually due to flat battery in the fob. Reprogramming of keyless entry can be done without dealership assistance.

Transponder/Immobilizer failure - this requires the key fob to be re-programmed by your local dealership.

Hope this helps....
