Question about Dodge Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

Went to use the key fob for a 2013 dodge ram today. Truck would not recognize it.

Replaced the battery. Spare key fob works. Does the bad fob need to be reprogrammed.

Changing batteries is never a bad idea and it only take a minute or 2 to reprogram you fob remeber you can only have 2 program at a time so if there are 3 one will not work

Most probably key memory lost. If key 2 is working then you can reprogram the one that has gone bad for free.

Why doesn't my 2013 Nissan Sentra recognize the FOB? Says FOB "not detected" when its in my hand. Is this a dead battery in the FOB? how do I get this fixed?

Does the key fob open the and close the door? If it does the battery is fine.

This seems to be a known problem. Move the fob closer to the Start Button.

I have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 and i changed the starter, crank position sensor, tried a different ignition but the ignition still would not turn the engine over... Im thinking about wiring up a push start...

unless you have the key fob also, you need a new ignition switch, with key fob and key with a chip in it,the switch turns on the fuel pump when the chip is recognized, take it to someone that knows what they are doing, you CANNOT hotwire it.

Won't start, could it be fob or engine?

Try not using the fob at all open the door with the key. And start the jeep if it works without issue then its the fob. If its still not working correctly remove the battery from the fob and try again(since if it was damaged could be sending the signal for the panic button) the next step is the key try your spare security key can become worn and cause issues with the antitheft system. After that it only leaves computer problems and those can get spendy

MY DODGE RAM HAS A FACTORY INSTALLED REMOTE START BUT THE REMOTE STOPED WORKING I CHANGED THE BATTERY BUT STILL DOES NOT WORK ANY DEAS WHY

Oreilly Automotive stores have a little device the picks up a signal from a remote. Maybe your local parts store will have one. This will verify that your key F.O.B. is working. After that....fuses or possibly a frequency switch in the key FOB got bumped when you changed batteries. Otherwise, catastrophic failure....sorry.

Truck won't start

You have a bad key, or a bad sentry immobilizer. Take it to the dealer.
