My thought would be to check for rpm signal, comes from crank sensor. There could be other issues?

2003 mountianeer stats hard after the oil was changed

Nothing to do with the type of oil your using

You need to get caught up on your preventative
maintenance

Spark Plugs every 3 years
MAF Cleaning once or twice a year
Replace front O2 Sensors at 100,000 miles
Gas Filter
Check COP Ignition Coils for misfires
Air Filter
Check Fuel Pressure with a gauge & scan tool
A battery over 4 or 5 years old could also be a problem
Check TPS voltages & Throttle Control Voltage (Gas Pedal)
