SOURCE: Power sliding door won't close properly on 2005 Freestar

U will need to buy a can of spray white grease and clean and then lubricate all the tracks the door channels on as well as all the latches for the door, this will cure the issue in most cases, did allot of these while working at a Ford dealer.

sound to like the door is out of alignment . It might have been closed hard on something while something was blocking the door. a mechanic need to adjust the level of the door or level the hinges and it should close properly.

SOURCE: 2005 Toyota Sienna XLE - Automatic sliding door not closing.

This may or may not work depending on exactly what is wrong with the door, I cant tell what is wrong without looking at it directly however:
You can try starting with all doors closed and unlocked, keys in hand disconnecting the battery and letting the vehicle sit for 2 min or so, then reconnect the battery. Put the key into the ignition and turn it to the on position but do not start the van. Next press the button to disable the power sliding door for the drivers side, then manually open the door fully, wait 5 seconds, then close it manually fully. Press button the button again to re-enable the power sliding door, then try to use it with the automatic feature either by pulling the handle or using your remote, this may or may not work depending on if the door has somehow become de-initialized (it should work now) however if something is broken inside the door closing mechanism or door closed/open sensors, the door will continue to malfunction.

What would cause my rear doors to not come open

Hi i can only assume you mean the doors wont open from the inside. If thats your issue, open the door from the outside, look very close around the latch on the or br the latch and youll see a little metal slide "switch"slide it the other way then close the door and see if it now opens. Thats a child safety mechmanism to keep the kids from opening the door. Hope that helps.

2001 ford windstar sliding door wont shut

I have found that Windstar sliding doors are subject to amnesia. If they are not opened and closed regularly, they "forget" what they are supposed to do. I make it a point to use my fob regularly to open and close the door (one in my case) to keep it focused on the job at hand

The wire harness/track assembly below the door needs replaced. It is a fairly simple operation that can be done in your driveway or garage. If you have any questions on how to replace feel free to ask.

I have a 1998 windstar gl and my sliding door will not open. nor will it close all the way. wont budge, and is ajar

It sounds like the latch may not have opened all the way last time you opened it and then when you tried to close it, the latch jammed on the pin.

I would get inside the van and try to force the sliding door open at the rear where it swings out on the rails. The latch is going to have to be jarred loose.

If you get it open, check and make sure the "fingers" on the latch are completely opened before closing it again, and give them some lubrication.
