When an alternator belt is changed, would it be possible to overlook a faulty alternator, even after test driving it? Car konked 2 miles down road.

If you asked the shop to replace the belt, they would have done that and made sure the belt was on correctly.
If they did not know there was a problem with the alternator they would not have tested the output.
If the battery light was on before you had the belt replaced somebody should have said something about the alternator.
Otherwise no.

How do I change a alternador in my 1999 plymoth Breeze 2.0

1 remove battery cables from battery 2 disconnect wires from alternator 3 loosen belt with the belt tensioner it will probly take a 3/8 drive ratchet to loosen the tensioner by putting the end that normaly goes into socket into a square hole in tensioner( just move tensioner far enough to slip belt off alternator pully) 4 remove bolts from alternator 5 put new alternator in place and put bolts in 6 put belt back over pulley 7 plug wires back on alternator 8 reconnect battery

Short duration screech when car is started. Last longer in cold weather. Had top two belts replaced within last 24 months. apparently there are three belts.

One of the belts is loose. I would say it is the Alternator Belt.
What happens is that when you use the battery to start the car, the alternator immediately attempts to charge the battery back up once the car starts.
If the belt is loose, the belts slips some, making that horrible screech, until the battery is charged enough that the belt no longer slips, because the alternator no longer needs to make as much power, and the screech goes away.

Check to see that your alternator belt is the next one to replace, and tighten it up to specs.

How to change alternator belt on 98 mitsubishi galant es, i looked under the hood and a belt was shredded. i took it off and the car still started but when i cut the car off it wouldnt start back up, i...

Most likely what is happening is that either the fan/water pump is no longer being turned by the engine, which it needs the belt on for (Assuming it's a '98, not an '89), causing it to overheat, or the battery is being drained because the belt being off the alternator is causing the alternator to not turn, therefor producing no power. Make sure no shards of old belts remain, and put on the new belt. That should solve the problems.

My car will not start unless i get jump , then when going on the road and turn signal lighton the radio will go out for a second or when iturn brakes on

If you need a jump start, your battery is flat.

That means that it no longer holds its charge, or isn't getting charged up properly by the alternator.
Go to a battery shop, they should check it out for free.

if it is slow to turn over then that indicates a battery problem. If your battery is new it is possible for it to be bad, not likely. Your problem could be the alternator. The alternator charges the battery and runs the vehicle. So if the alternator is bad then it can no longer run the engine which would drain your battery.

have your alternator checked out.
