SOURCE: when i put into gear and press on the gas and the clutch out the engin revs but the car goes no where.

WITH ENGINE ON & RUNNING and you are able to shift to any & or all Gears and with this theres,
No Clutch Engagement Upon Releasing Clutch
With Info Provided seems that you have 1 or all 3
of the Fallowing and they all Should be Replaced as A Set even if on lt 1 of them has Failed

  1. Clutch Pressure Plate has Failed
  2. Clutch Disc Is Worn Down
  3. Clutch Release Bearing Has Failed
All Require Removal Of Transmission this is the reasoning for Replacing all as SET with the Labor cost if your replace only 1 Item, and 3 Months later another of the 3 components Fail, you have the same Labor cost to PAY.

This Solution is Answering the SOLE Question ask, Barring No other Problems have or did Happen such as Noises Ran out Of Trans Lube. if it is the Clutch that has Failed and you are unable to Perform the Repair yyourself, DO SHOP AROUND get 5 or more Estimates as the Fee Will Vary Sometimes very wide gaps in fee's
and also Try and Purchase the Parts yourself Due to the Tremendous Markup of parts at Shops

SOURCE: 2004 Honda Element...the clutch pedal engaging at 50%

You could have a problem with your pressure plate, but you need to check out your clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder too. Check the clutch master cylinder fluid reservoir, and make sure it is full. It is located on the back wall of the engine compartment, approx right in front of your clutch pedal. If it is low, or you notice any fluid leakage, you need to address what caused that. You can bleed the system too, but that won't repair the problem.

Well, there is only one thing I can think of in your situation. Your pressure plates just simply are not creating enough pressure to allow the gears to engage. Either you have a defective clutch and it needs to be replaced, or possibly just needs a ton of adjustment. When you put it in 1st gear while engine is off, then start it and take off that works b/c there is enough pressure to keep the gears from starting to move when not already moving. However when they are already moving, there is just not enough pressure to stop them from turning, not even long enough to shift. Have you tried forcing it into 2,3, or 4 while driving without the clutch? As long as you achieve the correct RPM's your transmission should be able to do so.

Why does my clutch pedal go down whenever the car gets hot

The temperature may have nothing to do with it .. it's probably more a question of time/distance.

Are you losing any clutch fluid? You may have a leak from the clutch master cylinder.

Is there a leak from the clutch slave cylinder?

It may be that the rubber seals in either the master cylinder or the slave cylinder have perished/worn. Usually, it is the clutch slave cylinder that is at fault

My truck keeps over heating after a new radiator and new water pump and new fan clutch and new thermostat and there isn't any water in the oil

Air lock find out where the bleed nipple is and undo carefully if engine hot and wait for the water to stop spitting and hissing ( like a kettle) Top up with water/antifreeze careful to pour slowly to avoid air bubbles accumulating.

I drive a 2006 dts which i've had for 1 year. A week after I had the car the temperature gauge went to red when I was in traffic. I took it to cadillac, they replaced the engine, radiator and hoses

Temp is going up, well that doesn't mean anything unless it actually overheats, in traffic it can reach 240 F and present no danger of engine damage. If this is not the case DO NOT DRIVE THIS UNTIL THE PROBLEM IS FOUND AND REPAIRED UNLESS YOU WANT TO BUY ANOTHER ENGINE JOB.

Why does my temperature gage go over half when i drive with the ac on in a 90 degree climate? when i dont have the ac on, it stays on half. i had the radiator and engine flushed out and i'm using the...

A/C increases Engine Temp in two ways.
1, extra 2-6hp load on engine.
2, hot condenser in front of radiator heating air going through cooling system.

A small difference in engine temp can be expected, but if the car is running hot get it sorted out.

RPM is over 400 rpm higher than it should be with no gas pedal.

Could be several things.. I would suggest replace the neutral safety switch, all O2 sensors and fuel and air filters, PVC valve and if needed plugs n wires..
The issue could also be a bad throttle body.. Should be a good idea to get it hooked up to a diagnostic machine - get the codes and then you will know more of what you are dealing with..

Have a great day !!

Would like to talk with a car repair guru, not a computer guru

i think you have a combonation of problems here. most of it lead to needing a tune up .
just to get an understanding what is going on in your engine . i would bet to say that your enagine light is on . and probily an engine misfire code.
when the engine misfires somtimes it wil activate your knock sensor and ****** the timing thus raising your engine temp. if you havent flushed your coolant system yet you should. new plugs and wires and clean your throttle body.
good luck
