The fuel pump cycles, naturally, every time the car starts. No reset involved. If your car isn't starting, after a battery replacement, check your fuses and relays.

I just replace my fuel pump on a 2004 Chevrolet impala and it sill won't start. Can you tell me exactly where I can find the fuel pump reset switch?

There is no fuel pump reset switch ! You need to test the electrical circuit , there is a fuel pump RELAY that turns on the fuel pump an this is where you test for battery voltage an control of the relay ! THE PCM - ( engine computer ) provides a ground to pin 85 there by energizing the relay turning on the fuel pump ! Here check out this video . GM Fuel Pump Relay Testing

How do you reset the fuel pump relay after putting in new fuel pump

I'm having the same "reset" problem, after replacing the gas filter. Think the battery needs to be disconnected then reconnected, but I can't find the answer anywhere yet. Will call dealer later.

I replaced the battery, how do I reset the computer, its not getting fuel?

Thanks for choosing FixYa Michelle and welcome to the site. Anytime the battery is off, the computer resets automatically. Since you are not getting fuel to the engine, you need to make sure that the fuel pump is working. Check your fuel pump fuse and relay. Also, check the reset button if you have one. You should be able to hear the pump kick on when you first turn the key on. You should hear a buzzing sound for a second or two. If you don't, check the fuse/relay. Check the reset button if you have one. I am not sure if you do or not Michelle. They are usually in the glove box if you do. If you check all them and the pump still doesn't work, change it. Now, you need to check your fuel filter as well. It may be clogged. If not, check your gas lines. Make sure that none of them are damaged. If not, the only thing left to check is your fuel injectors. That is your complete fuel system there. Check the fuel pump, fuel filter, gas lines, and the fuel injectors. If you are not getting gas, it is one of them.

Where is the switch to reset fuel pump. I do not have a manual. Car will not start. Not a battery problem

Also not a fuel reset issue, unless you
were in an accident of over 3 g's

Have you removed the starters solenoid,
opened it up and checked the contacts

If not that, then the starter or cables

Start with the somewhat easy stuff

You tested the battery and it is only
a few years old also?

Where is the fuel pump?

the fuel pump is located inside the gas tank. under the hood in black box[main fuse and relay panel] before you replace the pump, i suggest that you check fuel pump relay. or have you been hit from rear? you may need to reset the fuel pump shut off switch. you will find the reset switch in rear of car, look for a pop out panel on the left hand side when you open the trunk. push the switch in [like a reset switch for old t.v. push it in and then try to start the car before you replace the fuel pump please! but if you know for sure that the fuel pumps bad, drain all the gas out before dropping the gas tank. this will save you alot of trouble. also disconnect the positive cable from battery before you do anything!!!!!! hope this helps, merry christmas. and as always,if you need further assistance, please repost your question and an expert will be happy to assist.
