Question about 2003 Saturn ION

1 Answer

When front fan or A/C are on, Loud Vibrations

The front grill and radiator(?) begin to shake when the car needs to cool off, or the a/c is on. It appears to be fan related, but everything still works fine, and the fan looks fine.

I wiggled everything, and short of taking it apart, it seems secure, just not very well I guess. Because it happened suddenly, I thought it must be a loose screw or something. The bearings sounds like it could be it, but would that happen suddenly? Thanks

It could be your fan bearings or the fan housing could be loose. Wiggle everything connected to the fan and radiator to see if anything is loose.

bearings can go very quickly,,does it happen only when a/c is on? if not then it can only be ,fan, water pumpbearings,,fan hub etc.try loosening all belts, inspect them for missing or damaged bits then check pulleys fan and water pumpetc for movement with out any .weight on them from the belts ,i tend to think this engine has a viscous fan which loads up when motor needs cooling that is when the load is put on the water pump bearings.please comeback to me after trying this

How to remove and replace cooling fan on 05 bmw 325i

The cooling fan is held onto the plastic shroud so to remove the fan you must first remove the shroud as the motor comes out from behind closest to the rad.this 05 model doesnt have a manual centrifugal type unlike the earlier models its not a difficult job but lots of bits and bobs to remove first though

Overheating

ignition timing off, check engine coolant level make sure coolant level is not too low.make sure you have 50/50 mixture of antifreeze and water in cooling system.if been long time i would flush out engine block and radiator.replace water pump and thermostat and replace radiator pressure cap.make sure front grille and radiator core not blocked restricted preventing air flow through the radiator.make sure cooling fans are working also.check engine oil if looks like milk shake you have blowed head gasket which will cause car over heat.

Hey, i added a trailer towbar and hitch ball to hyundai getz gvs 1.3 petrol model 2006, 82 ps hatchback. I believe ill need an extra cooling fan in front of the radiator.Plz help..

any 12 volt fan will work, the bigger the better co tack a close look at how much space you have to work with if any then look around in wrecking yards by seeing a few different fan assemblies you may get a better idea of what will fi and be the easiest to mountas for the wiringi woul try to run the wire to the fuse panel and tap into the fuse for the cigarette lighter and a toggle switch mounted on dash or a place you can reach whil driving. this way you have control of the fan, if the moter temp. begins to elivate flip the tiggje , changing the radiator cap may alow it to run at cooler temps or get a larger mor efficient radiator wich you can pick wil look nice.all this fuss for a 1.3 liter Hyundai to pull an extra 551 lbs. is a good thing you dont have a couple of fat mates

How to replace cooling fan on peugeot 206

The cooling fan on the peugeot 206 is situated between the front grille and ththe radiator, To gail access to the fan you first need to remove the 4 push/pin fixings that hold the upper grille panel ,then remove the 2 torx screws from either end of the upper panel (one at each end. Next the lower grille panel needs to be removed by disengaging each end from just below the headlights, these ends are held in place by clips ,and care must be taken when pulling the lower grill from these clips.Once you have both upper and liwer grille removed ,it a simple matter of unplugging the fan connector ,and removing the 3 fixing bolts , the fan can then be removed ,

Air conditioner fan is making a loud noise

1. Could be a caught foreign object between A/C (air conditioning) fan and cooling radiator, producing this loud noise.
2. Could be a damaged fan blade, mowing the cooling radiator.
3. Could be a loud noise comming from the fan's electrical motor.
4. Could be a broken off fin (small wing) of the cooling radiator, striking the A/C fan, producing this loud noise.

2001 Jetta 1.8 turbo - a/c intermitently goes warm during idle, and sometimes hear a loud vibration that comes on at off, all during idle.

its prob the cooling fan its located in a housing along with the radiator fan at the front of your engine bay look down when you open the hood . and make sure the fan is spinning run the ac on high and wait ( do this while the car is running of course ) . do not run your ac if the fan isnt working . you will burn up the compressor . the noise and vibrations you feel are from the compressor turning on and off.
now if the fan is working its prob the compressor. if all else fails take it to a mech where they can test it ... its not pricey and its quick
