SOURCE: Vitara carby overflowing with fuel...

if its an old caburator style, it sounds like it has a bad float , --i have seen cases where the float would be slightly pourus and gas would seep inside making the fload heavy and letting it continuously flood out....hope that was helpful!!

Mini a series 1275 two 38 m/m s/u carbys fed by s/u electric pump fuel pressure required please thankyou

around 2 1/2 psi the carbys float closes off the fuel supply the pressure rises and the pump stops, volume is more important then pressure to keep the carbys float chambers full.

I have a 420 38 MTD, runs fine for a while then stops.

I suspect that you have a problem coil /ignition system that is failing when it gets hot
if it runs for a while , I would be leaving the carby last as it is working for a while and that is not a carby problem indication

1984. Why does it run fine during cold weather and sputter when it is warm and I punch the gas pedal?

could be low float level, low pump pressure/supply
blocked fuel filter
when cold the engine is running on choke setting which draws more fuel from the carby
when it is warm the choke is off and if you have a flat spot ( (sputter) , that indicates a lack of fuel or maybe a bad accelerator pump or power valve
if the carby is a holley then replace the power valve and overhaul the accelerator pump.

1969 Camaro Small Block fuel pump. What is the pressure for a stock fuel pump?

most mechanical pumps will run at 8 psi. Pressure is dependant on volume flow so if the carby is starving for fuel , check for filter blockage ( also at needle and seat entrance), pump stroke ( thickness of blocks under mount on engine)

Engine cranks but no start

Check fuel pressure at carby [if good] remove and strip out carby and replace needle and seat and wash out bowl ,replace and adjust to suite.

Eninge wont start unless petrol is tipped down carby. carby is a rochester quadrajet with auto choke .

might have to put a carby kit through it, the jets might be blocked thats what it sounds like. when you poor it in the fuel and air gets in straight away but if the jets are blocked you wont get the fuel through. try carby cleaner, use the accelrator cable on the side of the carby to rev it right up while spraying in carby cleaner car will try die out then let off the accelerator. basically you have to clean your carby out

Does not start at one, Huyndai Getz 1.4

on fuel injected vehicles
low fuel pressure on 1st prime(go at starting) caused by fuel pressure reg or pump (need to test between both)
on carby
fuel bowl in carby draining out internally/externally
carby/mechanical fuel pump

# replace fuel filter
# remove fuel from pump the one that goes back to the pump remove fuel cap blow threw with compressed air to make sure there is no blockages
# if u can get a fuel pressure gauge check fuel pressure it should be about 4-6 psi
# on the carby fuel where it connects to the carby there should be a bolt take it of and from memory there is a little screen filter check if its blocked and clean blow air into the carby fuel inlet
# on the bottom of carby body midway is 2 nuts facing down one has the main jey in it when u take this off all the fuel should come out of the carby place air nozzle in hole and hit it with high pressure to clear
