first off, no engine stated, 2.5 or 4.0L USA car, or export?
nor if restart at at stall are easy.?-
its not the TCM, because the TC clutch disengages at low RPM
regardless of what gear the TCM stuck you in.
its and engine problem. 99.9% (sure a bad rare clutch internals.)
so can you save that stall with fast right foot. this is #1 all time key fact for any stalls.!
if the EGR , some jeeps have one, on some engines
sticks open the engine stalls.
if the car has not been tuned up this decade, sure, it will stall , how can any engine not?
if the stall can be saved, with right foot,
hard. to do but can, EGR ( P040x Dtc codes. stored)"?
if very easy, the engine might be staving for air (ISC/IAC) stuck.
if impossible (spark died, no tune ups ever) or loss of fueling
is the CEL lamp glowing key on.
did you use any scan tool to see if there are DTC errors at the stall.
or during,,,,, all key checks to finding it.
did the ASD relay cause the stall,, ??? if it did , then there are DTC errors. stored. get them with a scan tool or using the key trick.
now my useless guess.
the car has never had a tuneup.
the ASD works like this.
free FSM her
the secret key trick is here. (a real scan tool is 10x better)
Start with the ignition off. Within five seconds, switch the key on, off, on, off, on. ("On" is NOT "Start" and "Off" is NOT "Lock").
The "check engine" light will flash. (codes)
Count the flashes. Each code is a two digit code, for example,23 would be FLASH FLASH (pause) FLASH FLASH FLASH (long pause). It may flash out up to 9 codes.
