Question about Jeep Cherokee
You only have two codes, 11 and 12, 55 means that it is the end of the sequence
11 is " No distributor reference signal detected during engine cranking. Check the circuit between the Distributor and the PCM." (Haynes) or "Camshaft signal or Ignition signal--no reference signal detected during cranking" (Chiltons)
12 is "Battery Disconnected within the last 50-100 Key Starts" so not a big deal for you so that leaves the problem with error code 11, though you have not given me any other symptoms. Usually the cam sensor is the problem with these Jeeps so access it underneath with a long extension and a flex socket or through the fender well on some applications and replace it (hopefully try to test a working one from another Jeep in it before buying a new one, just so you don't waste the money). Let me know how this turns out.
