How to remove 2003 yukon denally heads 6.0L

Need to remove heads to remove broken header bolts, they broke on their own. I want to know if I have to set motor at TDC.

V8 engine? That would be drivers side front. Remember that TDC is number one piston up (On the compression stroke, not exhaust stroke), timing marks at zero.

Check this procedure.... Timing Chain & Sprockets-Removal & Installation for 4.2L Engine

NOTE The following procedure requires the use of the Crankshaft Holding tool No. J-44221 and a suitable torque angle meter.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2. Remove or disconnect the following:
    Camshaft cover Timing chain (front) cover Tension on the timing chain by moving the tensioner shoe in. Place a tee into the tension to hold the shoe in place. Top chain guide bolts and guide Exhaust camshaft position actuator bolt and actuator Intake camshaft sprocket bolt and sprocket Timing chain Crankshaft sprocket Cylinder head access hole plugs Timing chain tensioner shoe bolt and shoe Timing chain tensioner guide bolts and guide Timing chain tensioner bolts and tensioner
To install:

NOTE Every seventh link of the timing chain is darkened to help in aligning the timing marks.
  1. Install or connect the following:
    Timing chain tensioner and bolts. Tighten to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm). Timing chain guide and bolts. Tighten to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm). Timing chain tensioner shoe and bolt. Tighten to 19 ft. lbs. (26 Nm). Cylinder head access hole plugs and tighten to 44 inch lbs. (5 Nm) Crankshaft Holding tool No. J-44221, or equivalent with the camshaft flats up and the No. 1 cylinder at Top Dead Center (TDC)

    Crankshaft sprocket Intake camshaft sprocket into the timing chain

  2. Align the dark link of the timing chain with the timing mark on the intake camshaft sprocket.Feed the timing chain down through the opening in the head.
    NOTE It may be necessary to remove the crankshaft holding tool to rotate and hold the camshaft hex to align the pin to the camshaft sprocket
    NOTE It may be necessary to remove the crankshaft holding tool to rotate and hold the camshaft hex to align the pin to the camshaft sprocket
    NOTE Rotate the camshaft actuator clockwise relative to the camshaft prior to tightening the bolt.
    Timing chain onto the crankshaft sprocket. Align the dark link of the timing chain with the timing mark on the crankshaft sprocket. Intake camshaft sprocket onto the intake camshaft Intake camshaft washer and bolt Exhaust camshaft actuator into the timing chain. Align the dark link of the timing chain with the timing mark on the exhaust camshaft actuator. Exhaust camshaft actuator onto the exhaust camshaft
  3. Rotate the camshaft actuator clockwise (as seen from the front of the vehicle).
    WARNING The camshaft actuator must be fully advanced during installation. Engine damage may occur if the camshaft actuator is not fully advanced.

  4. Install the exhaust camshaft actuator bolt and tighten to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm), plus an additional 135 degrees, using a torque angle meter.
  5. Tighten the intake camshaft sprocket bolt to 22 ft. lbs. (30 Nm), plus an additional 135 degrees, using a torque angle meter.
  6. Remove the tee from the timing chain tensioner to regain tension on the timing chain.
  7. Remove the crankshaft holding tool. The dark lines on the timing chain should be aligned with the marks on the sprockets.

  8. Install or connect the following:
    Top chain guide Suitable threadlock to the top chain guide bolt threads, then install and tighten to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm) Engine front cover Camshaft cover

the best option is to remove the hub as it requires punching out the broken sections and punching in new studs
they are splined formed under the head and require a heavy hammer to drive them in so using something like a heavy tube ( long socket) big enough to miss the head will prevent damage to the rest of the hub

Many dipstick holders are bolted to the engine...removing this bolt and the dipstick tube should also retrieve the may need a new tube, as well as dipstick...Hope this helps.

Bolt broke off in engine..

To replace the bolt you'll need to remove the broken bolt that is still in the head. To do this you need to drill a hole in the center of the bolt. And then you'll need to use a bolt extractor to screw the broken bolt out. than you can install a new bolt.

How do you remove c clips on rear axle on 2003 yukon 2 wheel drive rear end

You will need to support the vehilce on Jackstands, remover the rear wheels, remove the differential cover. You will see a pin retaining the spider gears in the diff, this pin is held in place with a bolt. Carefully remove this bolt, you may need to spin the carrier to access it, once the bolt is removed (should be an 8mm) you can slide the pin out, and push in on the axles ( you may need to disassemble the brakes to do this) and the c-clips can be removed, and the axles can be pulled from the truck.

Broken crankshaft pully, need to know how to remove to replace

Normally...three bolts for the pulley assembly, and one large center bolt, and yes...a steering wheel puller will work, but make sure the puller doesn't sit into the center hole threads, or they will be destroyed. Sometimes a nut in here will prevent that.

Plastic Guide rail on sunroof broke

I just purchased a used yukon xl. Both plastic rails are broken.
Solution: Drill out the blind rivet. Start with 1/8 drill bit and remove the head off. The plastic broken part can now be removed.
Install a blind rivet through the new plastic rail and use the rivet gun to squeeze the rivet in place. Make sure it is the right length.
get a grip gage and determine the right rivet for it.
very easy job.

Broken head light

the bolts hold the headlight bazel on are located on the inside of the engine compartment. if it's on the side where the battery is ... you will need to remove the battery to get at the bolts.
