SOURCE: VTM rear differential Liquid needed at how many miles

The diff fluid is only changed if the diff needs repair, or if you suspect water has entered it, check it on a regular basis for leaks and if you think water has gotten in through the vent.

SOURCE: I have a 2009 Honda pilot. has a tapping noise when in reverse.

VTM 4 is a traction control system designed for better traction and fuel efficiency. I'd get it back to the dealer ASAP. There seems to be a coil malfunction in the rear axle. I'd make them fully check out the rear axle in addition to checking out the coil sensors themselves. Best of luck to you!

SOURCE: Can you make turns with the vtm-4 lock on on a 2006 Honda pilot or do you have to go straight

You don't. You only use diff lock when traveling in a virtually straight line, otherwise you scrub your tires out. slight deviations are fine, but only use it when you need it in snow, ice or mud.

Unknown operation of the front diff.

awd?
off the wiki, , does this help,?
the Ridgeline is powered by a transversely mounted J35A9, (2006-2008) J35Z5, (2009-present) 3.5 L V6 with a five speed automatic transmission. The all-wheel drive system operates in front-wheel drive mode under normal conditions and automatically transfers power to either rear wheel via a locking differential when it senses a loss of traction in the front. The VTM-4 system can be locked in first, second or reverse gears at speeds under 18 mph (29 km/h).
The VTM-4 lock (rear diff lock) works in full rear power mode up until 6 mph (9.7 km/h) then it gradually transitions to power to the front and releases the VTM-4 lock at 18 mph (29 km/h)

How do i use the 4wd

Hi,

Bring your vehicle to a full and complete stop. The system will not properly engage if the vehicle is moving.

Shift the vehicle into first gear, second gear, or reverse before engaging the 4-wheel-drive system. The system is limited based on the speed of the vehicle, and these gears are within the speed range of the system's capabilities.

For Honda piliot, engage the VTM-4 system by pressing the VTM-4 Lock button on your Pilot's dashboard. The button will illuminate to confirm that the system is engaged.

I hope this helps.

Have a warninig sign comes on . It says VT4. What

If it says VTM-4 that is your VTM-4 indicator:

This indicator normally comes on for a few seconds when you turn the ignition switch to ON (II). If this indicator comes on at any other time, there is a problem in the 4WD system. Have your vehicle checked by a dealer.

The Variable Torque Management 4WD System (VTM-4) automatically transfers varying amounts of engine torque to the rear wheels under lower traction conditions.

You can try the following:

To Disengage the VTM-4 Lock, do one of the following:

1. Press the VTM-4 Lock button.

2. Move the shift lever to D or D .

3. Turn the ignition to LOCK (0).

The VTM-4 Lock will temporarily disengage when the vehicle speed exceeds 18 mph (30 km/h). It will automatically engage again as the speed slows below 18 mph (30 km/h). The button light will remain on.

Hope this helps you understand the light. If not, leave a comment and I will try to help you further.

2006 Honda Pilot - Road Noise - not tires.

the tires make steady noise , check the wheel bearing as noises get high and low at the same speed , and i also would check for diff if it's 4wd.
