It sounds like you have a bad c v or constant velocity joint. Look under the car next to the wheel look for a rubber accordian type unit, if the rubber is torn or lose the grease has escaped and damaged the joint. You can replace it yourself, but if your not mechanically inclined would say take it to a shop.

see if the distributor is loose. I would say check that the cap isnt loose. make shure you have spark and fuel. can really tell over the internet a popping sound, best guess is bad timing

mcdevito75 here, Sounds as though you have a worn or broken timeing belt, or problem with -in the ignition system of the engine. Have the shop check it out for you.
