Is it running cold or is the temp sender unit not working( wire broken)
thermostats are made to open at around 85c and be fully open at 95 c
if the engine is running cold , the thermostat could be stuck open or missing

Heater not warming up

Most likely the thermostat broke. I expect that you have an older Hyundai and never had the anti-freeze changed. When the engine is cold the thermostat is closed which causes the engine to warm up more quickly. A warm engine runs more efficiently (less gas) and more smoothly. When the engine temp reaches a certain temp the thermostat opens and then allows the hot engine coolant to run through the lines to the heater core. The heater blows air over the heater core which produces the warm air that warms up the cabin. Thermostats used to be cheap and easy to change. I would suggest a web search for how to replace the thermostat. Something like 'hyundai accent 2002 replace thermostat".

How to change thermostat on AUDI 1.9 TDI

Heed of antifreeze solution temperature!!!
You must check the thermostat operating. The thermostat location is on back of alternator at the bottom side of the bracket. IMPORTANT: It is NOT necessary to replace the alternator if you want to change the thermostat !!!
Thermostat checking:
1. Cold engine. Start up the engine and watch of the water temp indicator. After first value 60 Celsius Degree you still warm up the engine until the lifter (pointer) reach 80 C deg. (second mark after 60 C deg.). At this time you let engine running at idle speed and check with your hand the thermostat plastic housing and hose temperature in bottom left side of the engine. Heed of alternator driving belt and ventilator fan !!!
2. If the thermostat is good the hose must be cold until the water temp indicator reach almost 90 C deg.
3. The thermostat opening temperature is 87 C deg.
4. If the hose is already warm the thermostat is out of order.
5. If the thermostat and the temp sender are OK the last piece out of order will be the instrument cluster.

Engine temp remains to cold and is not reaching operating temp quick enough

remove, test and (most likely) replace the engine's thermostat - if there is one in there now? To test thermostat, put in a pan of water on a stove top, it should open just ahead of water boiling temperature..
Best regards

My 2004 A4 1.8 Audi's water temperature does not go above 150 degrees F. What can be the problem

Check the engine thermostat!

Thermostat checking:
1. Cold engine. Start up the engine and watch of the water temp indicator. After first value 140 degrees F you still warm up the engine until the lifter (pointer) reach 175 deg. F (second mark after 140 deg. F). At this time you let engine running at idle speed and check with your hand the thermostat plastic housing and hose temperature in bottom left side of the engine. Heed of alternator driving belt and ventilator fan !!!
2. If the thermostat is good the hose must be cold until the water temp indicator reach almost 195 deg. F.
3. The thermostat opening temperature is 188 deg. F.
4. If the hose is already warm the thermostat is out of order.

Replace the thermostat if necessary!

Engine overheats. plus once engine running a green flashing light with a (s) on it.

#1. Check coolant level,(engine stone cold and not running) change to a new one if not done in last 2 years.
#2. Change thermostat to a new one, Honda thermostat only, also every 2 years.
#3. In the thermostat housing there is a "coolant switch A" you should have a plug going to it, unplug it and while your engine is running almost at operating temp, bridge 2 wires with a wire, your cooling fan/fans should come on, also check for continuity you should have no continuity when engine is cold and continuity when the engine is at operating temp.

#4. If there is no continuity when engine is at operating temp then you need a new "coolant switch A"

Let me know here, if you need more help.

1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Engine Stays Cold

If you have verified that the dash temp gauge is correct by checking temp of coolant in radiator, yes your guess would be what i would change, the engine needs to have a 195degree thermostat in it.195 degrees is what the computer is programed to see as normal running temp.

Check engine light

sure you can have the codes checked. but lets look at your coolant temp not raising that tells me your thermostat is stuck open . the thermostat wont cause the engine light to come on and it wont say replace the thermostat it will give you the problems of running a cold engine. (try the thermostat)

Over heating

In general I know of no reason per se to replace the thermostat and temp sensor because you replaced the radiator fan. If the temp gauge seems to be staying in the 1/3-2/3 of full scale, and there is no apparent engine control issues as the engine warms from cold to operating temperature then there is no obvious reason to replace those items. Other than fan motor failure is there any reason for you to believe these other parts are at fault? You can get a free fault code readout at an Autozone parts store which would highlight a temp sensor problem, but there is no fault code for the thermostat except maybe the one for engine running cold for too long a time after start up. You could also check the resistance of the temp sensor which should run around 10-14,000 ohms when cold and drop to 700-1,000 ohms when warmed up.
I don't know about the issue of replacing the thermostat because I don't know which engine you are working with. So let me know an
