You need to reset the CAS and the TPS, that also needs to be reset to. The way to adjust the idle on this engine is with a screw on the idle air control valve (IACV). At the back corner of the engine, on top on the driver's side, the IACV is bolted on. If you crouch down next to the driver's fender and look straight in at the IACV (with a flashlight) you will see a screw recessed in there, with the head pointing toward you. That's the idle adjustment screw. With the engine running, AFTER you have reset the CAS and TPS, turn this screw until you are able to set a warm-engine idle of roughly 750 RPM.

Then check for vacuum leaks. A vacuum leak would lead to the stalling you described. There's lots of vacuum lines on these engines and it's easy to miss one. Propane enrichment is one way to look, but you can also let the engine idle and spray small amounts of carb cleaner (any parts store) around different areas of the engine and listen for a change in idle speed. That'll help you pinpoint the source. Again, do this AFTER you reset the CAS and TPS.

Also a possibility of a cracked head gasket. Might want to take it to a shop for that or if these prior suggestions do not work.

Good Luck

Will only stay running on revs over 2000rpm if I take foot of peddle it cuts out also white smoke from exhaust

What is year--make--model?
Are you losing coolant? The white smoke may be coolant in the combustion cylinder, possibly caused by a head gasket problem. If head gasket problem, fix that first.

With idle issues, clean/check anything that has to do with idle air system. Any applicable trouble codes?

Bmw 320 d 150 bhp rough idling when starting cold

seems like theres a build up of carbon in the intake. you can try the pour in gas tank cleaners for fuel injection cars which you have and after 2 or 3 of those with 2 or 3 full tanks it will clean the injectors and the carbon out of the intake. And if you really want to get them cleaned up even better and stop all the rough idling, take the intake off yourself and clean all the black stuff off anywhere you see it. Thats the carbon build up. Especially on the butterfly valve area. It will not only run better for you but get better gas mileage as well.

CEL blinking smoke coming from exhaust, rough idle

White smoke is indicative of burning coolant. Gray smoke is burning oil.

Have a compression test done which will often give an indication of evolving head gasket problems. If the coolant level is going down, and there's no obvious leak, its a head gasket.

Firstly, i am experiencing a lot of top ups on oil (1 pint/week). My car smokes a lot and the smoke is white and blueish like. My exhaust is so black and oil greasy residue and some oil is leaking through...

your idle problem is because your carb is missing somelines such as vacuum etc.
the reason your top up is increasing is because your car is burning oil hence the white/blue smoke.
you need your head gaskets changed and also get your mechanic to take a look at your O-rings (piston rings)

I think my car blew its head gasket, but theirs no water in oil,if idling temperature stay normal, fans do come on when idling for long.I`ve changed spark plugs, plug wires, thermostat and heat sensor unit.As...

white smoke from the exhaust and overheating would almost certainly mean a blown head gasket.
the head gasket has gone between a cylinder and a cooling channel so exhaust gasses can get in to the cooling system resulting in the boiling and water from the cooling system is getting into the cylinder resulting in the white smoke (actually steam) from the exhaust.
the exhaust manifold is a separate issue that can be replaced when the head gasket is repaired.

Car smoke white when idle and nothing when driving

Engine also smokes when car driving if turbocharger still faulty. Did you change the engine timing belt (the timing belt kit) meantime? What about engine oil consumption? When engine glow plugs (one or more) burnt then engine exhausts white smoke at idling. Also white smoke at engine idling when water is still present in diesel fuel.
