2002 chevy tahoe sputtered and shut down after getting gas in south carolina n a few minutes later started right up

This could be a few things. One is bad quality gas but since it started up again that may not be the cause. The other may be the fuel filter, fuel pump, or fuel injectors. Any of them would cause the engine to sputter and shut off. Do you normally buy fuel from this station? Was it a little old "Mom & Pop" station? They sometimes have dirt in their fuel. If not does the station you by from have pure gas, no ethanol. It's getting hard to find fuel that isn't at least "E-10" or 10% ethanol (alcohol). GM vehicles made after '97-'98 will run just fine on E-10. One thing about ethanol is it is basically like a solvent. We use alcohol to clean product before going into a paint process. It breaks down the oils and dirt. This can happen in a gas tank with ethanol. Especially if you have never or almost never used E-10 or higher fuel. Are you sure you didn't happen to buy E-85 fuel? Also, do you normally keep your tank at least half full? Sometimes a gas tank, fuel lines, or fuel injectors will have a varnish like build up and the ethanol will break it down and it will clog up the fuel filter, fuel pump, or fuel injectors. Do you know when the last time your fuel filter was changed? Then again it may be the fuel pump may be weak and/or about to fail. It happens and it can be expensive because the pump is inside the gas tank. I found out not to let the fuel level get super low, too. I let that happen one time while on the road and I almost couldn't get it started. One thing you can do to help extend the life of the pump is when you want to start your Tahoe, first turn the key to the run position without starting the engine. You get a lot of warning sounds for a couple of seconds but if you listen really close you probably can just hear the fuel pump pressurize the lines. It only takes a second and once it is pressurized you can't hear the pump. This will help extend the life of the pump as it doesn't have to work as hard for that short period of time during start. Most people will turn the key from OFF to START in one quick turn. Try to get into this habit for a while. It doesn't cost you anything and if it works it will save you some hassle until something actually completely breaks down. My son has an old BMW and he was complaining about having to put 2 fuel pumps in it in 2 years. I told him to try letting the pump charge the system before starting and he hasn't changed the pump in almost 4 years. Now it's part of the cute quirk of having a 32 year old car.

Hyundai elantra 2005 won't start hear clicking noise in fuse box could be battery

Best suggestion is go to advanced auto parts or autozone and get your battery tested. A weak battery can cause a lot of problems. They will test the battery to see if it can *hold* a charge. 4 years is a long time for a battery. Even the most expensive batteries have at most a 3 year warranty. If it is not the battery, it will most likely need a new starter, but it REALLY seems like you just need a new battery

What caused the power steering quit on 99 honda civic

I don't know much about cars but that happened to my moms 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix. It was caused by a hose leaking power steering fluid. When it eventually ran out of fluid the power steering pump went out. Would have been a lot cheaper to fix the leak but after having the GMC dealership that sold us the car "replace" the leaking hose, it started leaking again (even worse than before) a few mths later.

This happens at various times during the year. Most of the time it starts like it should. When i go somewhere and I am only out of the truck for 10 minutes or less and go to start it just turns over it...

If you meant the engine cranks without starting, the engine most likely drowns itself.
When that happens, push the gas pedal to the floor a few seconds while cranking to signal the PCM to cut the injectors completely allowing you to vent the excess fuel from the cylinders.
After that is done, you may find the engine easier to start with the gas pedal partially pressed. The deeper it is the leaner the mix will be.

Dome lite does not go out

Have you tried spraying the door latch with WD-40. The old MY trucks had this happen after a few years, depending on the environment. Could be a few other things, but this is a good starting point. Spray and close open a few times, repeat 3 or 4 times and see what happens with it.

Don't want to put the fear of god in you for the similar symptom ( with others added aside from the radio does not shut off ).

My van keeps shutting down right after. The vehicle will start 20 times then with no warning it will start then shut off in two seconds then not start again until the next day. It doesn't happen every...

there is 4 main things that could cause this.... 1. fuel pump heating up and stopping untill it cools off.... 2. the crank position sensor could heat up and not send the computer the propper signals and work once cooled off.... 3. coil pack same as the other 2 and 4. the main computer could be failing.

the crank position is the least expensive
the coil packs are a common issue out of those V6s
the fuel pump can be checked by spraying starter fluid in the intake when the van doesnt want to start and see if that makes it start.
the computer should be able to be diag. by the dealer but is very expensive and has to be a exact match software wise and year make model and package.

Could be a bad bulb....Don't laugh I've seen it happen a few times. The glass part of the bulb loosens up causing the filament to twist and short it out. I hope this was helpful.

How often should i change my oil? My mom said that the dealership who she purchased the car from told her that once a year was all that was necessary. She puts approx 8 to 10k on her car annually. She has...

definitely not once a year at 8-10k. 3-5k miles on average and if a lot of highway miles 4-6k and if you don't put that many miles on it then at least 1 once a year no matter how few miles

Code needed for car stereo

From personal experience I can tell you that when this happened to me I had to call a million people it seemed to get the code, don't laugh but I lost where I had written down the code and needed it a few years later due to battery problems, anyway, I just happened to notice a familiar number on a sticker stuck to the side of my glove compartment while it was open, thought I would try it because it couldn't hurt, and it was the stereo code. So long story short, check the side of your glove compartment while it's open and maybe your code will be stuck there too.
