Hi. Maybe what you need now is to have the ball bearings checked. If they're fine, the thing to do is to pack them up with grease. If need replacement, they'll provide you with a new set of them for a modic price at any auto parts store, but my personal choice is always the manufacturer dealership, so you can have the peace of mind that is an OEM part and that it will last for the longest. Usual service mileage for these parts is 50,000mi.

check your center support bearing on the shaft assembly. its most likely broken. its somewhat in the middle og the drive shaft. it has rubber boot. something tells methat the boot is torn and bearing has play in it. check and replace if you see separation/beeing broken.

SOURCE: subaru vibration

have you checked the engine mounts, weak engine mounts can make it vibrate, if you could tell me more were the vibration is sounding like its coming from front or back it may help more to find the problem. also have you had the balance weight checked on the drive shaft. this can cause a problem like this. if you have a ring on the drive shaft there is a ring, then it is missing. and that is why you are geting this fault. you will need to have a new one fitted.

Hi Trevor, The vibration tells us that something is out of balance. It would be a good idea to have the whole shaft balanced and the universal joints inspected for wear. There are two ways in which a universal joint can be damaged, The most common is a roller bearings collapse and the other is a seized unit. There is another possibility and that is if there has been damage to the chassis or frame of the vehicle. Regards John

I have a bad vibration between 35 mph and 70 mph however if I take my foot off the gas the vibration goes away - have changed fuel pump, filters and engine mounts and now the esp light comes on and goes...

vibrations can come from all manner of things, wheel imbalance thrown a weight or flat spot on tyre or damaged wall, suspension mounts, engine+gearbox mounts, anti roll bar mounts, wishbones lower mounts, drop links, steering rack and idlers, there can be others that you would not think can do this and these are clutch thrust bearing or plate spring. rear wheel drive prop shaft mounts, exhaust and mounts, automatics can be the torque converter out of balance. also can be worn bearings on the wheels. you would need to find were the location of the vibration starts and pin down its area this can help with another pair of ears in the vehicle.

Motor is trembling when i accelerate

I would assume that you SUV is a rear wheel drive. There are a few things to try:
Try Balancing your Tyres
Check Prop Shaft and Universal Joints and mostly the centre carrier bearing.
Check you engine mountings

Hope this helps
