My 1989 Honda Accord will not start when it is hot. This only happens when I kill it though, otherwise I believe it starts.

that is bad, signs of oil starvation in the camshaft, maybe worn out main bearings and crankshaft bearing, if not top overhauled or completely overhaule it will result to blowby of the engine

I changed the serpentine belt on my 99 ford escort zx2 now when I start it it idles low and then kills. I changed the crankshaft position sensor and it does the same thing. I took the crank shaft postion...

Rattling is most likely the original problem. I would say you have a bad bearing in one of your pulleys. Usually the A/C compressor one causes a loud rattle when it goes out, sometime the alternator one will also. Release tension on belt and try to wobble pulleys by hand to feel for slop in pulley bearings. If you find any significant slop, the pulley baering is most likely bad. (Your tesioner pulley itself can also be the culprit) sloppy pulley= bad bearing = drag= load on engine =bad idle and or kill motor.

What do you have your torque wrench set on when tightening the hub nut on the bearing? Over tightening is what kills the majority of wheel bearings.

Front wheel noise when driving. Louder the faster you go.

Raise the vehicle until one wheel is off the ground. Grab wheel by sides and wiggle - if it moves, you may have a bad wheel bearing. Also try rolling the wheel and listen closely - you should hear and feel a crunching or grinding noise which would confirm the wheel bearing. Lower vehicle and check the other side. Many newer vehicles have the bearing as part of the hub, requiring the replacement of the hub assembly to fix the bad bearing. Most others require a press to change out the bearing. It may be worthwhile to take it to a shop right away for a hands on diagnostic. Be careful driving it - the wheel bearing could potentially cause the wheel assembly to fall of the vehicle, injuring or killing yourself or others!!!

2007 3500 4x4 trying to replace front dr. sd. u joint without killing sealed bearing with chisel or gear puller bearing wont move! torches?

No good way to go about it. If you have an air hammer, see your local tool guy. They make a bit that hits off the hub bearing bolts to work it out. It works fairly well, but if theyre really stuck, get yourself a big hammer and start swinging.

No, unless it kills the new bearing, then youll know that its the hub or pin thats "off"!
(Assuming that its "new" discs!)
