My x5 BMW engine was overhaul recently. Now we found that it sucks the oil from the oil sump into the intake manifold

That will occur via the crank case ventilation system. If there is excessive vacuum in the system, oil will be drawn out of the sump, through the tubing system and into the intake manifold.
The cause of the excessive vacuum needs to be addressed and without running checks I cannot tell you what the cause of the excessive vacuum is on your complex BMW engine.

2008 bmw stop running when stoping 3.o engine

test the brake booster
start the car and idle with the handbrake on. If it idles ok then apply the foot brake
if the engine dies or stops --replace the brake booster
If the engine will not ilel without the foot brake check for a vacuum leak in --the transmission vacuum line , vent control lines or manifold leak.

I HAVE THIS PROBLEM WITH MY BMW 530 D A 2004 MODEL AND SOMETIME IN 2013 SEND IT TO BMW TO REPAIR THE EXHAUST EMISSIONS AS THE LIGHT KEEPS COMING UP AND PAYED A FORTUNE AND THE CAR HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRE

It would appear that there is a crack in the exhaust manifold or a faulty manifold gasket. The fault light may be the ECM warning of a "faulty" O2 sensor which is the one after the cat converter as the ECM reads the differences in voltages between the front sensor ( HO2S) and the O2 sensor. That is how it knows of such things as faulty cat converter, manifold leaks ,manifold leaks etc.
If it is not under warranty find an accredited shop that specialises in you make of car for a second opinion, but if still covered by warranty complain very loudly to the manufacturer about the service dealer.

The idle control valve is under the intake manifold. It can be replaced without removing manifold

To remove the starter there are 2 options remove the intake manifold or remove the transmission.

Intermittently having trouble starting when turning the key no response at all.

May be immobilizer circuit, or, on a 14-year-old car, it could be the starter.
When you get no response, have someone tap the starter with a stick. If that makes it work, it is shot.
I have heard that if you have a manual transmission, you can snake out the starter without removing the intake manifold. Not clear to me how that would help. On an automatic, you have to remove the intake manifold. PITA, but then you will know that you have a nice fresh intake manifold gasket.
