Im doing an injection pump on a new holland lx865 skid steer, it says i have to set cylinder 1 at 28 degrees from top dead center? how do i measure the 28 degrees from tdc?


diesel engines have the timing marks on the harmonic balancer or in the face of the flywheel as viewed through an opening in the block
turn the engine over until no 1 piston is coming up on compression ( (check the valve overlap rocker positions on the next piston to fire -normally no 3 as set in the firing order or when no 1 valves have max tappet clearance )

1998 mercury grand marquis cylinder head to engine block torque specs


Tighten in 6 steps. These are torque to yield bolts and new bolts should be used.
1 Tighten all bolts to 28-31 ft lbs
2 Turn all bolts 85-95 degrees
3 Loosen all bolts 360 degrees
4 Tighten all bolts 28-31 ft lbs
5 Tighten all bolts 85-95 degrees
6 Tighten all bolts an additional 85-95 degrees

Set your points gap using a dwell meter - 30 degrees (range 28 to 32 degrees). Spark plug gap .035"

There are two temperature sensors on the engine. One is designed to send information to your engine control module. The other information to your gauge in the vehicle. It would be a good idea to check your coolant level as on this model they are noted for leaking coolant from their intake gaskets. Also when engine has been driven for a while see if the upper radiator hose is hot to the touch. You may have a thermostat that is stuck open causing your condition.

Low side pressure should be 28-32 PSI, you have a big problem here, possible expansion valve issue.

Hello: Max cooling is when the recirculate door opens. With the recirculate door open, 80% of the air flow comes from inside of the car and 20% is outside air. That makes the cooling more efficient. Normal a/c operation is 100% of airflow comes from the outside. These settings have nothing to do with compressor operation. Also Decreasing or increasing the amount of cooling has nothing to do with compressor operation, what that does is control the amount of air going from the evaporator core either through or past the heater core. The a/c compressor runs the same amount of time regardless of settings on the control panel. Also in cool weather the compressor runs in the defrost mode to keep the windows from fogging up. None of these settings affect performance, the only time performance is affected is wide open throttle (WOT) in that mode the engine computer shuts off the compressor to allow max power of the engine, ie: passing gear.. When A/C is selected the compressor is on, none of the settings will affect gas mileage, ie, low/high, max/normal 60 degree or 90 degree.

1968 Barracuda with a 318cid; The 5th digit of the vin will be (F) for the engine-318 2v rated @ 230hp.

Compression pressure--125-155 max variation 25
Spark plugs--Champion N-14Y @ .035" gap-torqued @ 30ft. lb.
Timing--man. trans @ 5 degrees btdc, auto trans @ 10 degrees btdc.
Points-- .014"-.019" gap--Dwell--28-33 degrees, max variation is 2 @ 1500 rpm--Spring tension--17-20 ounces.
Fuel pump pressure 5-7 lbs. manual pump
Hydraulic Lifters--no valve clearances
Firing order--1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 counterclock wise rotation
Idle speed--Turn headlights on highbeams and turn a/c off
500rpm for man trans--500rpm auto trans in neutral.

'99 Seville Climate Control stuck on 75 Degrees and HI Fan


The most probable cause is a failed HVAC control programmer. However, it may also be a failed cabin temperature sensor, causing the programmer to think it needs to set max heating. You can try removing the negative battery wire for at least three minutes and then reconnect it - this should reset modules in the car and may resolve the problem.
