Their will be a bank of fuses under the hood, beneath a small to mid size black box with a detachable lid on it. You can remove the lid and visually remove and inspect each fuse (make sure you take them out one at a time so you don't get them mixed up). If the fuse is blown, the small wire on the interior of the use will be burnt in two. Their is also usually a diagram of which fuses go for what on the inside of the lid. Theirs a separate set of fuses underneath the dash in the drivers side. Perform the same process there, just ensure you don't go yanking on any of the many wires you will see under there.

Do you have a meter that has any ohms ranges? If not, buy one! You can get one for under $10 a Harbor Freight Tools, complete with test leads and battery! Pull the fuses out one at a time, and measure continuity through the fuse. They should all be close to zero ohms, but any that measure "open" are bad. Don't mix up the fuse positions!

05 silverado driver side door will not lock. What

dont waste your time checking fuses, if it was a fuse ALL doors would not work. Take the door panel off and check the voltage to the lock solenoid when you lock/unlock the door, if voltage is good then you have a bad solenoid, replace it.
