Which fuse controls front windshield wiper pump


Do the wipers work ? Fuse for wipers is same as washer pump .
Principles of Operation
The wiper motors receive inputs from the following:
  • Multi-function switch
  • Powertrain control module (PCM)
  • Ignition switch
  • Smart junction box (SJB)
The following components are integrated in the wiper motors:
  • Windshield wiper motor module
  • High/low speed relay
  • Run/park relay
  • Washer pump relay
  • Park sense (Hall-effect sensor)
Washer System
The windshield washer and the rear window washer are activated by the internal wiper motor modules when it receives a ground from the multi-function switch between the washer inputs. Depending on the correct ground, the internal wiper motor modules activate either the windshield washer or rear window washer relays (internal) by grounding the respective relay coil. When either module is activated, it connects voltage to the washer pump while the deactivated module provides ground to the washer pump. In this manner, voltage polarity is reversible to achieve directional change of the washer pump and washer fluid.

Driver Seat Module
The power driver seat and power exterior mirrors are controlled by the driver seat module (DSM) only when the vehicle is equipped with the programmable/recall memory option.
On the Expedition Limited, the power fold exterior mirror option is controlled by the DSM. Before running a self-test or retrieving codes, the power fold switch must be inactive for at least 30 seconds.
This is a complex vehicle , electronics , control modules an serial data communication networks. You mite be better off taking it to the dealer or some other repair shop . There could be DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes stored in the SJB - body control module !

Windshield wiper washer pump fuse


On a lot of cars, that washer pump circuit is really a sub-circuit of the windshield wipers themselves. The wiper fuse is also the washer pump fuse, in other words.

Use a test light or a voltmeter. Pull off the electrical connector at the pump on the washer fluid tank. Have a helper turn the key on, then press for the washer pump to operate. Take your test light and clip the ground lead to the negative battery post. Touch the tester probe to the positive terminal to assure the light is bright, that the test light will work. Now probe the connector at the washer pump. One of them wires should light up the test light, or would show battery voltage with a voltmeter or multi-meter. If it has power when key is on and washer switch on, the motor is bad, or sometimes you have to go a little further and find a ground fault.

If there is no power on any wire at the pump connector, you will have to look at a wiring diagram to diagnose it. Find out just how the pump gets power.

How to check fuse for washer fluid


use a test light and check both sides of the fuse not just one side. check for power and ground at the washer pump while someone is working the washer pump switch. it could be the washer pump that is bad.

Windshield washer liquid pump doesn't work


Disconnect socket going into washer pump.Check to see if the power supply at pump is there by testing with a circuit tester. Pull back on wiper washer switch to perform this.If you have power its the pump.

Windshield washer stopped working , I think the pump motor is dead, but I do not know how/what is involved in replacing it, or to at least check for 12V at the pump itself, as I can not see the washer...


The washer pump has 12v constant when the key is on. The washer works on a ground, when you pull the
switch it grounds the pump to complete the circuit.
To test for power, locate the green wire that go's down to the pump. With a test light check it for 12v+.
If there's no power, check fuse #25 a 20amp fuse in the fuse block. If you have power, locate the wht/grn
wire to the pump. Clip the test light wire to a pos+
contact and have somone pull the washer switch and
use the probe end of the test light to check the
wht/grn wire if it lights, you have power and ground.
may have to access the washer bottle and pump
from under the car. Hope this helps.

Bad washer pump. Take the tank out with the motor in it and put 12v to it. It will either pump or not.

Washer pump will not work on 2002 caravan


If you have check every thing else, then it is the Windshield Washer Pump that you have to check. The washer pump is located through the front passenger side wheel well. The last time I change it the price was about $12.00 for the pump.
Take it apart and test the connection, to make sure there is power to the Pump. If there e is no power the there is an electrical problem else where.
Track it down and try fix it and try again.
If there is power and the pump do not work then go head and change it.

The windsheild washer fluid is not working. Could this be a fuse or is the pump shot? rear auto side window wont open when you hit the switch.


unplug the washer pump electrical connector use a 12V test light to test for power when you operate the washer switch if you have power make sure you have gound put one end of the test light in one sie of the connector and one end of the testlight in the other side of the connector don't let the two touch operate the pump if the light works the pump is bad.

DTC P0411/16795: SECONDARY AIR SYSTEM - INCORRECT FLOW DETECTED
Test Requirements
Ensure all fuses are okay, battery voltage is at least 11.5 volts, all electrical accessories are off, A/C is off.
Ensure engine is mechanically sound.
Test Procedure

NOTE
Secondary air system is activated by ECM and blows air into exhaust pipe
upstream of catalytic converter for 100 seconds during a cold start, 41-91°F (5-
33°C). Engine must be cold to perform following test procedure.

1. Ensure fuse and secondary fuse (secondary fuse is 40 amp and is located in fuse holder on top of battery)
are okay. Check hoses and components of Secondary Air Injection System, for damage, loose fit and
improper installation, check vacuum hoses for Secondary Air Injection System. Repair as necessary.
Erase DTC memory. Verify repair. If DTC does not reset, test is complete. Perform ECM relearn
procedure. See TEST DRIVE RELEARN PROCEDURE .
2. Remove engine cover. Disconnect pressure hose from Secondary Air Pump Motor (V101), by pressing
buttons on hose connector. See Fig. 33 . Using scan tool, check Secondary Air Pump Motor (V101) in
scan tool Output Diagnostic Test Mode (Secondary Air Pump Relay activation mode). See OUTPUT
DIAGNOSTIC TEST MODE .
3. Secondary Air Pump Motor (V101) should run in intervals and air should exit pump at hose connection.
If Secondary Air Pump Motor (V101) is okay, go to step 7 . If motor runs and no air exits secondary air
pump motor, replace faulty Secondary Air Pump Motor (V101). Erase DTC memory. Verify repair. Test
is complete. Perform ECM relearn procedure. See TEST DRIVE RELEARN PROCEDURE . If
secondary air pump motor does not run, go to next step.
4. Disconnect Secondary Air Pump Motor (V101) harness connector, install LED test light at secondary air
pump harness connector terminals. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, activate Secondary Air Pump Motor
(V101) in scan tool Output Diagnostic Test Mode (Secondary Air Pump Relay activation mode). See
OUTPUT DIAGNOSTIC TEST MODE . LED test light at Secondary Air Pump Motor (V101) harness
connector should flash. If LED test light at Secondary Air Pump Motor (V101) harness connector does
not flash, go to next step. If LED test light at Secondary Air Pump Motor (V101) harness connector
flashes, replace faulty Secondary Air Pump Motor (V101). Erase DTC memory. Verify repair. Test is
complete. Perform ECM relearn procedure. See TEST DRIVE RELEARN PROCEDURE .
5. Using DVOM check resistance of Secondary Air Pump Motor (V101) wiring. See appropriate WIRING
DIAGRAM under ENGINE PERFORMANCE in SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS. Resistance should
be a maximum of 1.5 ohms for each reading. Check wiring for short circuit to one another in Secondary
Air Pump Motor (N101) harness connector. Repair as necessary. Erase DTC memory. Verify repair. Test
is complete. Perform ECM relearn procedure.
Secondary Air Pump Motor (N101) wiring is okay, go to next step.
6. Check Secondary Air Pump Relay (J299) and Secondary Air Pump Relay (J299) wiring. See DTC
P0418/16802: SECONDARY AIR PUMP RELAY (J299), MALFUNCTION . Repair or replace as
necessary. Erase DTC memory. Verify repair. Test is complete. Perform ECM relearn procedure. See
TEST DRIVE RELEARN PROCEDURE .
7. Disconnect vacuum hose from Secondary Air Injection Valve (N112) and disconnect pressure hose from
secondary air pump motor, press buttons on pressure hose connector to disconnect pressure hose. See Fig.
34 . Blow lightly into disconnected pressure hose, Combi-Valve should be closed. Connect hand vacuum
pump to disconnected vacuum hose and apply vacuum to Combi-Valve, Combi-Valve should open. If
Combi-Valve opens when vacuum is applied, Combi-Valve is okay. Go to next step. If Combi-Valve
does not open when vacuum is applied, replace faulty Combi-Valve. Erase DTC memory. Verify repair.
Test is complete. Perform ECM relearn procedure. See TEST DRIVE RELEARN PROCEDURE .
8. Check Secondary Air Injection Valve (N112). See DTC P0412/16796: SECONDARY AIR
INJECTION VALVE (N112), ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION . Repair as necessary.
Erase DTC memory. Verify repair. Test is complete. Perform ECM relearn procedure.
NOTE: Do not use compressed air to check Combi-Valve.
