I have heard anything from 50,000 to 100,000. Usually there is a port where you can view the belt condition.

Recommended replacement 90,000 miles, normal driving conditions. Water pump driven by timing belt. It is recommended that you consider changing the water pump when replacing the belt.

Rule of thumb is at 100,000 miles it should be done. Has it ever been changed? If not, it may be a timing chain and that will have a self tensioner. If you plan to do it yourself this video may help. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XlDIrrgkrIc hope it helps

Testimonial: "Yes, it was changed at 158,000kms"

I have 151,000 miles on my 2002 4cyl Camry and have not changed the timeing or the sepeitine belt: Is it time to have it done?

Hi:
It is overdue time to change your timing belt and waterpump, as you are on borrowed time on the timing belt. The waterpump and tensioner should be changed along with the timing belt, as they can ruin a new timing belt if they fail. Your serpentine belt should be inspected and replaced if needed too.

My 2000 Camry XLE has 130,000 miles on it. I was thinking of changing the timing belt because I don't know if the previous owner replaced it or not, I do not want to take the chance. Can you tell me please...

Timing belt change interval is 75,000 miles.

It's time to change the T-Belt and water pump now.

Water pump is directly behind the timing belt cover.

It's best to get the water pump done at the same time.

Help!

Look carefully under the hood, car manufacturers place a decal w/ the belt routing diagram somewhere under the hood in the engine compartment. If u can't find it, check your owners manual, if u don't have one, let me know and I will research further to find it for u.
