Question about Cars & Trucks

Open Question

I just replaced batteries on my Dad's Jet 3 Ultra. When I turn it on it sounds normal, no extra beeps or flashes. But no movement.

Have checked the wheel locks and the connections. Am at a loss. Please help

SOURCE: Replacing battery under wheel well??

They say you do not have to remove the wheel, but I tried and had no luck so I just went ahead and removed the wheel, it gives you more room to work with when pulling the old battery out and putting a new one in.

SOURCE: programming keyless remote

2003-04 Mazda 6 REMOTE PROGRAMMING

Step 1: Open drivers door and leave open.

Step 2: Lock and unlock the driver’s door using the power door lock switch on the door.

Step 3: Insert key into the ignition.

Step 4: Turn key to on position and return to off position. (IMPORTANT - use ON position NOT ACC position). Do this 3 times within 10 seconds. Leave key in the ignition.

Step 5: Open and close the driver’s door 3 times. (Door should be left open after this step).

Step 6: ECU should respond by locking and unlocking the doors.

Step 7: Press any button on remote #1 twice. ECU responds by locking and unlocking the car doors.

Step 8: Press any button on remote #2 (etc.) twice. Each time the ECU will respond by locking & unlocking the doors.

Step 9: Remove the key from the ignition and the ECU will respond a final time with a series of door locks and unlocks. You're done!

Good Luck.

SOURCE: After the battery was replaced

You might need to take it in to a dealer to have the fob synched to the car. Is this in Canada , USA or some other country? Some counties have an immobilizer that can become confused if they lose power completley ... like from changing the battery.

SOURCE: hi I have an 04 mercury mountaineer with a beeping

Could be a computer problem. First step is to read the codes. This should be in owners handbook or ask the dealer. any auto electrician should be able to help.

When headlights turned on the dashboard lights dim and after 5 minutes a warning sound comes on.

Sounds like your charging system needs some attention.
1st check battery for voltage should be 12.50 or better with car off
2nd, start car check battery for voltage again should be 14.0 to 14.75 volts.
3 with running turn on headlamps and check charging voltage again if your voltage dropped to battery voltage your charging system is not working.

Sounds like the horn button on the steering wheel has gone to ground. Look at the harness running up the steering column to see if any wires look pinched or cut.

When I open the driver's door and take out the key from ignition, there is a constant beep different from the one I know and the dash board always flashing. What could be the solution.

The beeping sound is a warning sound that lets the driver know that a door is open and he shouldn't drive off. It is normal and nothing to worry about. Good Luck. george

My 2004 deville sounds like a jet engine when it starts. The sound goes away after it warms up I was told its secondary air intake. What needs to be fixed how do I replace it and where do I find the part?

Hello: The noise is from the air pump. This pump puts addition air in the exhaust to help burn the extra gas the engine gets when it is cold. If the pump is extra noisy it probably needs replacing. It is located in front of the drivers side front wheel. You have to remove the bottom splash guards to get to it. It may be a dealer item only but you can check with aftermarket stores to see if they have it. It is normal to hear a low whistle when it runs. Does not run very long.

2003 Pontiac Vibe with 110,000 miles. Over a three

Get a load test done on the battery first.A battery usually has 6 cells.Even if three have failed, you may still have 12 volts in the battery. But no amperage. Its like trying to start the car with a torch battery.Like I said ,its called either a load test or battery cranking test. Also, check both ends of the negative battery lead for proper contact and no corrosion or dirt and tightnes.Hope this helps
