Toyota Yaris Main and Big end Torque settings:
Tighten the main and big end bolts in sequential order and in two steps.
Main bearings. Stage 1.
22 ft lbs.
Stage 2.
44 ft lbs

Big end bearings.
Stage 1.
11 ft lbs.
Then Rotate bolt head a further by 90 degrees

Head bolt torque must be done in 3 steps:
1st 22 ft lbs
2nd 43 ft lbs
final 47 ft lbs
use this sequence of tightening:
9 - 3 -1 -6 -8
7 - 5 - 2 -4 - 10

Flywheel spec:
65 ft lbs

Need torque setting for cylinder head 1995 mercury cougar 3.8


New bolts are recommended, but the following applies.

For 3.8-liter engines manufactured from 1994 until 1995, the cylinder head requires multiple steps in a helical sequence to bolt properly: first to 15 foot-lbs. of torque, then to 29 foot-lbs., and finally to 37 foot-lbs.. Loosen the long bolts to between 29 and 37 foot-lbs. of torque and the short bolts to between 7 and 15 foot-lbs. of torque. Then, tighten each bolt an additional 90 degrees. The last two steps--the loosening and then the 90 degree tightening--should both be performed on each bolt before moving to the next bolt.

I want torque setting for jeep 3.7l on cylinder head


Hi there:
Install the cylinder heads. Use new gaskets and tighten the bolts, in sequence, as follows:
  1. Step 1: Bolts 1-8 to 20 ft. lbs. (27 Nm)
  2. Step 2: Bolts 1-10 verify torque without loosening
  3. Step 3: Bolts 9-12 to 10 ft. lbs. (14 Nm)
  4. Step 4: Bolts 1-8 plus 1 / 4 (90 degree) turn
  5. Step 5: Bolts 9-12 to 19 ft. lbs. (26 Nm)

I recently bought a new camper, it weighs loaded around 7000 lbs. I tow with a 2000 Ford F150 with the 5.4L engine. I would like to upgrade my tow vehicle to a 2005 or newer Chevy 2500 6.0L or a Ford F250...


Horsepower is important, but when towing torque is a big factor. Depending on the way the engine is set-up, the 6.0 could give you a big increase in torque. This also depends on how your current engine is set-up. The 5.4 can vary from 427ft.lbs. of torque to 454ft.lbs, while the 6.0 engine can vary from 499ft.lbs to 515ft.lbs. so you can see camshaft configuration is important when tuning for torque. It would be useful to know exactly what your engine is rated at.

Head torque settings


The torque is 90 foot lbs, and they want you to use new bolts, the old ones are stretched and CAN NOT be reused, tighten 20 lbs at a time in proper sequence as outlined in service manual.

the flywheel is 50 -60 ft.lbs....pressure plate is 15- 25 ft. lbs..

Replace ball joints


Remove in this order: wheel, loosen the 4 lower ball joint set bolts, cotter pin and nut from tie rod, tie rod from ball joint bracket, ball joint from lower control arm, 4 lower ball joint set bolts, ball joint from suspension. Install is reverse but don't tighten the 4 lower ball joint set bolts.

torque is as follows:
ball joint to control arm- 112 ft-lbs
Tie rod nut- 67 ft-lbs
lower ball joint set bolts- 83 ft-lbs
remember to use a new cotter pin
