My 00 Jaguar s type fuel pump rest button is stuck in a downward position, and now my car won't start

Wire around the inertia switch, use a jumper wire, same size as wires to and from, that should get you going. Replace the inertia switch. The fuse is only hot with the key on. Remember safety is your responsibility. I can't see what your doing from here.

Will the inertias switch prevent engine from cranking if tripped

yes i am sure it does inhibit starter operation as well as engine managment fuel/ignition functions. what is the problem? has the inertia switch tripped, and have you reset it? i think it is located lower a post lh side , if you have reset it and it still does not crank, check to see if the pats light is flashing/ its on centre top fascia. if it is you may have problem with th passive anti theft system, pats.if so you need to find someone with suitable diagnostic equipment, ie .wds. or ids.to help. these cars also suffer from corroded wiring especially around the front bumper beam and behind front wheel arch liners, also check the wiring under the engine bay fuse box i think the starter relay is located there. hope this helps.

2005 JAGUAR S TYPE TURNS OVER BUT WONT START AFTER ACCIDENT DOES IT HAVE FUEL CUTOFF SWITCH AND WHERE IS IT LOCATED

You likely tripped the Fuel Shut-Off Inertia Switch.
The inertia switch is located behind the trim on the right-hand
side of the vehicle, forward of the front door post, below the
fascia. Pull open the small panel in the trim to reset the switch.
Resetting the switch
CAUTION !!!:
To avoid the possibility of fire or personal injury, do not
reset the inertia switch if you see or smell fuel.
If no fuel leak is apparent, reset the inertia switch as follows:
Press the button!
If the switch was activated by the accident, you should feel it "click" when you reset it by pushing it.

Happy Motoring!

Where is fuel cut off switch on a 2000 model s type jag?

This switch only trips off in a 3G or greater crash.
The inertia/fuel pump cutoff switch is located on the passenger side front on the inside. Open the door and get down and look to your Right. it will be to the right of where the passenger would put his/her feet. There's a plastic piece of trim that will look like it has a little plastic piece much like where the tow hooks are. Remove that piece of plastic and push the switch in.

My jaguars its stoped

Look inside your trunk and there will be an opening cut in the side of the carpet. This will have a air suspension switch and a Inertia safety switch. The Inertia switch controls the fuel pump in case you get bumped or crash. Push the button on it for 3 seconds to reset this safety switch.

Second, if you have no lights or power to anything look at the battery connections. Their are dozens of things that can cause your problem, but I have given you the top two. Good Luck.
