1 of 3 things hapened
1 you droped the glass out of the frame out of the botom
2 you broke the cable
3 you striped the grars on the wheel in the door on the arm
open the door panel and look at it use a miror and a flash light it might not be easy but it is cheep to figure out whats wrong also if it is just striped at full botom out then use the window just dont drop it all the way when you have time and cash go to scrap yard and salvage parts required to fix it use small short boltd instead of ribits to hold the replacement in when doing the re install

You can buy the window regulator with motor at your local parts store for around 90 dollars. Remove the door panel, remove the water shield carefully, you will need to put it back on. Reach inside the door and raise the wndow with your hand until you can locate the two bolts that secure the window to the regulator. Remove the bolts and raise the window all the way up. Use duck tape to secure the window to the frame of the door. Remove the four bolts on the regulator and slide it out of the door. Install the new regulator and bolt the window to it. you may need to remove the tape and lower the window to a point where you can easily acces the bolts. Remove switch from the door panel and check for proper operation and no binding.

Electric window

The window motors have internal circuit breakers that prevent heat damage for excessive use. Do all the other windows work? If so the motor could be at fault. One trick to closing it would be by safely slamming the door. This will hopefully break the weld in the motor enough to close the window.

A. The glass came off of the track.

B. You are going to have to remove the interior door panel and the door 'frame' and re insert the glass back into the track.

Should not be too difficult.

I have a 1995 Dodge Dakota and I need to know how to remove the driver side door glass. thanks .

First take off the inside panel. It usually has on or two screws and tree plugs that allow you to pop the rest off the panel off carefully. Once you get it almost off if you have powered windows and locks you have to disconnect them from the power source with the connection you'll see inside the door panel. After the panel is removed lower the window to where you can see the bottom of the glass through the openings in the door. Two people is better for this job. you need one to pull on glass from the top the other to hold onto the window regulator (this is what the window fits into looks like a scissor lift. Pull glass till it is free on both sides. Now tilt the glass sideways and remove it from the inside of the door carefully it is a tight fit but it does come out. Remember how you take it out because that is the way it has to go back in the same way. Happy Motoring!!!!

Right front door window will not roll down.

Assuming it's electric, it could be the switch or the window motor/regulator. If possible try swapping the driver's side switch to the passenger's. If it works - switch, if it doesn't, most likely the window motor, located behind the door panel.

While driving my 1996 Dodge Stratus, it was cold outside, and when I went to lower the window, the window was frozen shut and would not go down, later, apparently after the car warmed up, the window...

The reason this happened was because the window glass was frozen in place. When you operated the switch to try and lower the window the torque from the window motor caused the glass to separate from the window regulator. Once it warmed up, the glass was free to drop down in the door because the window regulator had already traveled in the down position.

I need a left front door/window schematic on line for a 99 Dodge Durango. I need to see how to put it together.

Front Door
  1. Remove the door trim panel.
  2. Remove the water dam.
  3. Remove the inner and outer door belt weatherstrips.
  4. Lower the window to the full down position and align the glass regulator arm with the access holes in the inner door panel.
  5. Remove the front glass run channel.
  6. Remove the nuts attaching the glass channel to regulator arm.
  7. Separate the glass and lift it up and out.
  8. Disengage the power window motor wire connector from the door harness, if equipped.
  9. Loosen the bolts in slotted holes attaching regulator to door inner panel.
  10. Remove the bolts attaching window regulator to inner door panel.
  11. Remove the regulator through the access hole in the inner door panel.
  12. Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten the nuts attaching the glass to the lift plate to 7 ft. lbs. (9 Nm).
