Yes check power to fans but relay or fuse could be bad also always check for battery corrosion when having any electrical problems or loose connection on battery post.use a local auto part store to check for bad battery as well.it is possible the motor for the fan is blown out

Fan should be a designated relay
one fan cools the engine
other fan is for air conditioning condenser
if no better
check for 12 volts to the fans
or
you bench test both fans to see if the spin fast enough

There are lots of things that can cause enginr overheating. It could be anything from cooling system leaks to inoperative engine cooling fans, a clooged radiator, blown cylinder head gaskets, or a defective water pump. The problem needs to be properly diagnosed before anyone can help you with repair instructions.

Hello sunshineyes2 and thank you for asking your question here on fixya.com.

I have actually written a general information article that will walk you through the general process of changing the fan belt on your
2004 Kia Spectra. It will also point you to the resources you need for getting the diagrams of how the belt needs to go back on. Belts usually cost less than $20 and take a few minutes to put them on.

2005 kia spectra overheating what may cause it?

Yes, turn on your A/C your fans should come on. Check your fuses, and you can stright wire the fan, take 2 wires unplug it and run your new wires from each post on the battery to the wires at the fan. That will tell you if you have a good fan motor. If you think the fan motor is ok and good you will have to check the wiring to the fan and your water temp switch.

No heat in 2004 Kia Spectra

Check the coolant level, if that is good your heat exchanger maybe plugged. Also check the hose going onto the firewall, to make sure it's not collapsed.
