1998 Buick Century Air Conditioner not blowing out cold air

The car has dual climate control. It only blows out warm air on the drivers side and semi-cool air on the passenger side. We have "re-charged" the ac and still no difference.

My 98 Buick Century was doing the same thing. Up here is the north we have Canadian Tire. Went in there picked up a aircon recharge kit called RED TEC 12A hole kit costs $40 cnd I put 1 can in on the low pressure side which is the only fitting that the filler would fit on and now I have 33 degree air coming out of the drivers side and a couple degrees colder from passenger side.
I am sure you guys have something like Canadian tire down there you might even try Wallmart.

Under the dash behind the glove box(remove glove box)there is a vacuum connector with multiple vacuum lines of different colors, held in by a small nut on a long stud.Carefully remove the nut,and the vacuum connector, spray silicon spray into the vacuum lines, male and female ports.Replace the vacuum line connector back on.Also look for a vacuum line on passenger side of vehicle, near the firewall, and check the small check valve on the vacuum line and the vacuum line itself for sucking together, and breakage. If all this is o k,and the spray didn`t work, the control head for the temp control is not good

You need to vacuum the system and recharge, simply not enough Freon in the system. I just had the same deal with my daughters 97 Park Ave Ultra. Hot on the drivers side cool on the passengers. I vacuum the system down added the correct amount of freon and oil. Ta da!

Problem with heating and air conditioning. The driver's side is blowing hot air and the passenger side is blowing cold air

Air Conditioner blows warm air
  1. Air conditioner system is discharged. Have the system evacuated, charged and leak tested by an MVAC certified technician, utilizing approved recovery/recycling equipment. Repair as necessary.
  2. Air conditioner compressor clutch not engaging. Check compressor clutch wiring, electrical connections and compressor clutch, and repair or replace as necessary.

Only cold air on passenger side

I would assume with multiple people having the same problems, there should be a service bulletin on this issue. may want to call dealer with vin # to verify. sounds like a heater control issue under the dash. something i would leave to the experts for repair
