I have a 2002 ML320 benz keyless remote stopped working when I opened to change batteries they went flying i do not know how they were in I have tried diffrent ways still do not work

The batteries are flat like a nickel. the smaller end is the negitive end, the larger silver end is positive. Look inside the remote it will have marking corrisponding to the positive and negitive marks on the batteries.

Battery test proper voltage, new alternator test normal to low voltage, have trouble starting at times. while driving amp gauge shows varying readings of 14 to 10

If you test battery with a load test it will probably fail. Battery is bad. Also have alternator tested. Go to any parts store, even walmart they all test for free. I would put my money on bad battery. Cells getting weak.
