My Nova Kool RFS 7500 DC is making a loud thumping sound and DC voltage drops so it must be drawing a lot of current. Bought 2005 and used daily.

SOURCE: 2005 expedition rear a/c makes thumping noise when transferring

Sounds like the roof/floor actuator internal gear is stripped. The only way to fix it is to replace it. Remove the cup holder in the right rear trim panel. remove the 8mm bolts holding actuator and replace.

SOURCE: Right front is making a loud thumping noise

either broked break pad or disk or poss wheel bearing is loose to check later jack up front and try and push wheel in and out at top and bottom if it wobbles badly bearing has colapsed

Doing a parasitic draw test is how you would find a drain on the electrical system . THis is how a professional technician would find this problem .

My 2009 impala blows low beam right side every couple week

Every time we use put a new coil, especially coil one it usually blows up? Please if you can help, there must more power or probably sort circuit somewhere.. Thanks

What make , model an year vehicle ? Is it coil on plug , distributor less ignition ? How much current draw is there , how much voltage ? Sounds like a bad ground , Voltage drop the charging system an engine ground circuit . Go to you tube an check out videos on voltage drop . Also check out videos on basic electrical trouble shooting . Go to free wiring diagrams . click on technical information . Also on you tube check out current ramping ignition coils

Several modules are always powered. What is the typical current drain on the battery when the key is OFF?

Vary low should never make no start conduition.
Sounds like you have a muility meter to ask for voltages .
Try this disconnect the negitive from the battery .Set the meter on the 20 volt DC scale .Go red lead to posivite and black to engine block or any known solid ground .If you read voltage something is shorting
If the voltage 2 -3 volts it could be switches lights ect .If its 5 volts or over then its something that draws a lot of power like a bad motor .
At any rate if you read voltage pos to gr with gr disconnect from bat their is a short .
You can try pulling fuses 1 at a time to see when it stops .This will tell you what circuit the problem is on and sometimes the starting motor will short interinaly this will kill the bat fast

Cygnus land cruiser drains battery in two days

dont know much about the land cruiser, check draw on the fuses,each fuse should read low draw and one of them will be higher than the rest like one will show up near 1 volt or more and theres your issue, check what that fuse goes to and inspect it, usually people install after market add ons wrong and wire it to a constant power source.

Major electrical issue. Always a draw on the battery ... Went through 12 batteries and finally put a dump truck battery in it. Replaced the alternator as well. Now the car will not start at all. Three...

Hello. Install amp meter on the battery main feed. One the amp meter is coupled by direct or induced coupling. Start remove the fuses and watch the amp meter and when the amp meter indicator drops that one of the circuit that have some shorted or running. Now they can be more than one circuit that is operating when it shouldn't.

First thing with the amp meter connect disconnect the alternator. Do get wrong here. It a percaution if you happen to concur a large short. Also, when disconnecting the alternator look at the amp meter to see if there is a drop in current being used.

An alternator is a three phase AC generator. There are 6 to 8 high current diodes hook up where it turn the three phase AC voltage to DC voltage half wave + side of the AC. Then this DC voltage being combined voltages goes to a regulator which smooth out the voltage to 13.8 volts approx. The 13.8 DC voltage is need to recharge the battery. Because the vehicle operates on 12 voltage system it uses the battery for the constant voltages of 12 volts and a story house of current. stewbison

Will not start, clicking in engine, and smoke or steam coming from engine

Sounds like something is shorting out starter.
Disconnect battery terminals,get shop manual and inspect and clean off and repair any wiring to the starter.
Reconnect and have the battery checked out (Open circuit voltage test, and load test.), do starter current draw test if a-ok put back into service. Normally I would have you do a voltage drop and current draw test on starter circuit BUT SMOKE MEANS THE SHORT WILL BE OBVIOUS. Good luck and be careful I'v eseen these things start fires and cook batteries.

I recently replaced my battery in my 2000 jeep grand cherokee, but when I go to turn the key, it makes a clicking noise and won't start. What do I need to do.

sounds like a starter issue need to replace starter but before you replace startes check all wires from battery to make sure they are clean you can have the starter checked after you have it out at the parts store

Won't keep a charge had it diaggnosed its not the battery or the alenator

You have a current draw problem(something is permanently on) Remove the possitive battery terminal and connect a multimeter(set to 20 Volt DC)between the wire and the positive pole on the battery, Should not be more than 0,09 Volts. If so, remove each fuse one by one untill voltage drops to 0,02 check the description on fuse box to identify the circuit, Make sure everything is turned off when performing the above.
