New Headbolts are recommended

Long bolts are torqued to 46'lbs + 90 degrees.

Short bolts are torqued 43'lbs + 90 degrees.

Start in the center, and work to the edges, torquing the bolts in two stages.

Rockers are torqued to 22'lbs.

Head bolts are torque to yeild so you MUST use new bolts.
Tighten cylinder head retaining bolts in numerical sequence in three steps as follows:

  1. 20 Nm (15 lb-ft).
  1. 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
  1. 50 Nm (37 lb-ft)
Loosen retaining bolts one at a time two to three revolutions and retighten as follows:

Long bolts:
  • Tighten to 40-50 Nm (30-37 lb-ft).
  • Rotate an additional 175-185 degrees.
  • Go to next bolt in sequence.
Short Bolts:
  • Tighten to 20-30 Nm (15-22 lb-ft).
  • Rotate an additional 175-185 degrees.
  • Go to next bolt in sequence.

On the V8, tighten the bolts, in the sequence illustrated, to 100 ft. lbs. When all bolts have been tightened to this figure, begin the tightening sequence again, and torque all bolts to 130 ft. lbs.

On V6's, tighten all head bolts in sequence to the following torques:
* All except bolts 5, 6, 11, 12, 13 and 14 - 100 ft. lbs.(19-135.5 Nm)
* Bolts 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, and 14 - 41 ft. lbs. (19-55.5 Nm)
* All bolts except 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, and 14 - 142 ft. lbs. (19-192.5 Nm)
* Bolts 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, and 14 - 59 ft. lbs. (19-80 Nm)

22 pounds. I'm not sure if that is what BSA calls for, but if i was building the motor and didn't have the manual. I think that 22 pounds would be okay.

t Only remove the new cylinder head gasket from its packing immediately before installing.
t Handle the new gasket with extreme care. Damaging will lead to leaks.
- Place a clean cloth in cylinders so that no dirt or emery cloth particles can get in between cylinder wall and piston.
- Also prevent dirt and emery cloth particles from getting into the coolant.
- Carefully clean cylinder head and cylinder block sealing surfaces. Thereby ensuring that no scoring or scratches are formed (when using abrasive paper the grade must not be less than 100).
- Carefully remove metal particles, emery remains and cloths.
- Set No. 1 cylinder piston to TDC and then turn crankshaft back slightly.
- To centralize, screw guide pins from 3450/1 into front outer holes for cylinder head bolts-flechas-.
- Place the new cylinder head gasket in the centralizing pins -A-. Lettering (Part No.) must be readable.
- Fit cylinder head, screw in 8 remaining cylinder head bolts and tighten by hand.
- Remove the guide pins with tool 3450 by the bolt holes. To do this, turn the tool left until the pins are removed.
- Fit remaining cylinder head bolts and tighten hand-tight.
- Tighten cylinder head in tightening sequence as follows:
- Tighten all bolts to 30 Nm.
- Then tighten all bolts a 1//4 turn (90 °) further using a rigid wrench.
- Then tighten all bolts again a 1/4 turn (90 °) further.
There is no requirement to retighten the cylinder head bolts after repairs.
The rest of the assembly is basically a reverse of the dismantling sequence.
When the camshaft is turned, the crankshaft must not be at TDC. Danger of damage to valves or piston crowns.
Installing toothed belt and adjusting valve timing > Chapter.
Filling with new coolant > Chapter.
- Interrogate fault memory > Chapter.

  2. During the final tightening sequence, bolt No.11 will be tightened to a lower torque than the rest of the bolts. DO NOT over tighten bolt No.11.

  3. Tighten all bolts in sequence (1 through 14) to 22 ft. lbs. (30 Nm).
  4. Tighten all bolts in sequence (1 through 14) to 45 ft. lbs. (61 Nm).
  5. Check all bolts to verify they are set to 45 ft. lbs. (61 Nm).
  6. Tighten bolts in sequence:
  7. Bolts 1 through 10 to 110 ft. lbs. (149 Nm).
  8. Bolt 11 to 100 ft. lbs. (135 Nm).
  9. Bolts 12 through 14 to 110 ft. lbs. (149 Nm).
  10. Check all bolts in sequence to verify the correct torque.

Cylinder head torque settings for 1995 hyundai accent 1.5

According to my haynes manual for G-S reg, 1989-1998 it goes as follows,
Stage 1:- Tighten all bolts by hand until bolt heads just contact cyl. head.
Stage 2:-Tighten all bolts to 40Nm or 30lb ft.
Stage 3:-Angle tighten all bolts a further 60 degrees.
Stage 4:-Angle tighten all bolts again a further 60 degrees.
Stage 5:- M12 x 140mm bolts ONLY angle tighten a further 20 degrees.

Tighten the cylinder head bolts to their final torque specification in four steps. Use a crisscross sequence starting with the bolts at the middle of the head and working toward the outer bolts as follows:
  1. Step 1: Tighten each bolt to 14 ft. lbs. (20 Nm).
  2. Step 2: Tighten each bolt to 36 ft. lbs. (49 Nm).
  3. Step 3: Tighten each bolt to 49 ft. lbs. (67 Nm).
  4. Step 4: Retighten only the two center bolts to 49 ft. lbs. (67 Nm).

I blew my head gasket and i need to no how much

My main concern is that in 1990 Honda offered 2 engines...the D15B1 or the D16A6. I am going to assume that the engine in question is a D16A6, and the torque specs is; 47 ft/lbs for cylinder head bolts. When installing the bolts, dip them in CLEAN motor oil before inserting them into the block, and then tighten them as follows; there are 5 bolts in the front of the head, and 5 bolts in the rear. For the sake of explaination the front bolts are numbered from left to right...1,2,3,4,5 and the rear bolts are numbered from left to right...6,7,8,9,10. The correct tightening sequence for this arrangement would be; 3,8,2,9,4,7,5,6,1,10. I would recommend tightening the bolts to ~26 ft/lbs the first round, and then to 47 ft/lbs for the final round. Hope that this helps.

New Bolts Must Be Used
Step 1 : Tighten bolts 1-10 to 65 ft lbs
Step 2 : Tighten bolts 1,3,5,7 and 9 85 ft lbs
Step 3 : Tighten bolts 1 - 10 Clockwise 90 degrees
Step 4 : tighten bolts 1 - 10 an aditional 90 degrees
Step 5 : tighten bolts 1 - 10 an aditional 90 degrees making this a total of three times in a row 90 degrees.
Step 6 : Tighten bolts 11 - 15 to 18 ft lbs
Step 7 : tighten bolts 11 - 15 to 23 ft lbs
I asume your wanting the head torque.
