It sounds like you are using an after market scanner. You will need to take it to a dealoror service garage that uses either a snap-on scanner or dealorship scanner, so the perimeters can be looked at to see what is on/off to determine what device is not getting a reference voltage. It sounds like a connector, but without a good scanner to look at the individual componets, you will only be guessing.

check to make sure the small black wire that runs to the negative battery terminal is connected properly and corrosion free it will cause this issue / hope this helped
