You add fluid in the same pipe the dip stick is in. Remove the dip stick and insert a funnel and add fluid through there. Check it frequently since there is no way to remove fluid easily if you over fill the transmission.

How to drain and fill transmission fluid in 2012 chevy malibu?

place drain pan under tranny pan.
undo tranny pan screws - allow one corner to hang lower than the other corner (to allow fluid to drain) slowly remove them all.
Its messy! empty tranny pan into drain pan. set tranny pan to the side. undo the filter clamp, carefully remove the filter - set into the drain pan, remove the gasket around the tranny body/tranny pan.
Clean tranny block surface with clean cloth. install new filter, install clamp tightly. Clean tranny pan, place gasket onto pan and then reinstall tranny pan. (this only change the fluid in the tranny body and pan) If you wan the fluid out of the torque convertor you have pull the pan under the torque convertor and turn the convertor so you can get at the drain plug. Allow fluid to drain into drain pan. Reinstall drain plug and pan. (you will need a lot of fluid) Check manual for qty. Place car back on to ground/floor. Refill tranny through filler tube. Do not start the engine until oil is at full mark, and when you do start it do not all it to run for than 4 minutes - stop and add more fluid and check full mark again (repeat until no longer sinks below full mark. gently test drive around you block -- come back and check level while engine running. Top up if needed.
Siphon out excess above full mark. Test drive around 3 block,
come back check full mark. Because the torque convertor was emptied it can take a while to get all the air out it.

1989 Buick Regal Limited Transmission Fluid?

I'm not sure I am following your problem.
A transmission holds 10-15 quarts including the torque converter. When you drain the fluid you are changing about 4 quarts of the full amount.
Once you fill the transmission to the full mark on the dipstick, you should not be adding more fluid unless there is a leak. Or if the vac modulator is damaged and allowing fluid to be pulled into the engine. The fluid is checked with the engine running in park.

Can you drain torque converter when changing transmission fluid on a 2004 pontiac vibe

Basicly just remove the bolts in the transmission oil pan, make sure you have a drain pan under it and leave a couple bolts in, loosen the remining bolts and let the oil drain then loosen and remove them slowly as oil will be draining out while you are doing it.

Change the filter and after cleaning the pan install a new gasket and put it back on. Do not tighten the bolts too tight because it will distort the gasket and it will leak.

Pour about 5 quarts of transmission fluid in the trannsmission and start it up, look for leaks, and finish filling it to the cold line on the dip stick. If there are no leaks run until its warmed up and make sure the fluid level is at the full hot line on the stick.

There is really no way to drain the converter.

I have a 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee I replaced the tranny in it and the new one which is not brand new was taken from another same year and motor jeep from parts yard. well at first i had a problem filling the...

Have the vehicle on a level piece of road, engine running, transmission in 'park' with the parking brake on. Remove the transmission dip stick and take a measurement of the fluid level. If low add fluid a pint at a time via the transmission dip stick tube. Keep filling until the level is 'max' on the dip stick. The reason for keeping the engine running and in park is to ensure that fluid is continually forced into the torque converter. If you measure the fluid level with the engine off fluid drains out of the converter giving a false reading. Snatched gear changes are due to late shifts caused by low fluid levels in the converter. Once filled properly it should shift earlier and with no fuss. A worn clutch is usually signified by a slippage while in gear..the engine gains in speed but the car fails to pick up at the same time.

What is the full capacity for transmission fluid fora 5.7L 2005 chrysler 300

To avoid overfilling transmission after a fluid change or overhaul, perform the following procedure:
  1. Verify that the vehicle is parked on a level surface.
  2. Remove the dipstick tube cap.
  3. Add following initial quantity of Mopar ATF +4, Automatic Transmission Fluid, to the transmission:
    1. If only fluid and filter were changed, add 5.0 L (10.6 pts.) of transmission fluid to transmission.
    2. If the transmission was completely overhauled or the torque converter was replaced or drained, add 7.7 L (16.3 pts.) of transmission fluid to transmission.
  1. Check the transmission fluid and adjust as required

Ford aerostar automatic transmission repair

Lay it down flat and fill it about half way about 3-4 quarts. then install it onto the input shaft. Since the torque converter is part of the fluid drive system it will regulate its on its own when the rest of the fluid is added after the install. Hope this helps ~ Zach
