SOURCE: 2003 Honda Pilot a/c compressor stopping after 2 secs.

If i was guessing on this problem i would say that the pressure switch is malfunctioning and telling the computer to shut the a/c down. It could be a power stearing or a throttle switch as well.

SOURCE: Problems with my 97 Honda CRV. Erratic idle,

It could be the main relay and/or the ecm. Or it could be the distributor timing off.

Could be the ignition switch. Honda issued a recall on 1997 CRV ignitions in 2002.

Many engines for the last couple of decades and most engines for the last decade have no distributor because they are reckoned to be an inefficient and inaccurate waste of time unsuited to computer driven accuracy.

Modern engines use a sensor at the crankshaft to detect the crankshaft position and another sensor at the camshaft so the computer knows which stroke each cylinder is on and then with other information from other sensors works out precise timing and injection points.

Nowadays they have even eliminated the plug wires and engines either use a bespoke coil pack that fits directly onto three or four spark plugs at once or a tiny coil fitted to each spark plug.

More accurate this might be and requiring of less maintenance and more reliable but when it goes wrong it is infinitely more bother and much more expesive and there is no way local labour will be able to make paperclip repairs to get you home or press an unsuitable part into temporary service...

Thre is an English guy living in the States named David Vizard and in the matter of engines and design he is a guy worth listening to. He said, "sound engineering is what gets the job done with the least complexity".
I believe he is right and that means modern design and engineering is based on "unsound engineering"...

99 honda crv intermittent starts evn with a jump

Could be all related but may also want to check each system individually. Door issue could be an internal mechanical problem or electrical wiring. Check wiring that runs along driver door hinge to the switch. You will find a rubber boot and door harness is located inside. Check these and if you find any damaged or broken, repair.

I have a Honda crv (2007) starts first time when engine is cold but when it's hot it will crank but takes time to start. Was told it was low pressure caused by either the common rail or pressure...

Not really. If the problem was low fuel pressure it should take a long time to start cold also. Usually hard starting when the engine is warmed up is a coil or other electrical problem.
You can check fuel pressure before and after cranking with a special gauge hooked up to the port on the fuel rail.

This looks to be the entire wiring diagram of a honda CRV. Couldn't find one for 96 but hopefully this is close enough to get you the answers you wanted. http://www.autowiringmanual.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/1997-crv-system-wiring-diagrams.pdf

Well i got all my spark plig wires on the distrubutor cap in the right firing order but it will turn over but not start

First you have to determine weather you have a FUEL problem or (ELECTRICAL)Spark problem ??

Pull the coil wire off or a easy to get to spark plug wire, Lay it close to were you pulled it off of (Do not hold or touch you may get SHOCKED) and crank motor (need two people) look and listen for a spark, if you see or here a spark, then go to next step which will be to check for Fuel (gas). Be very careful when checking fuel, as most lines are under pressure and may cause bodily harm such as BURNS to EYES and SKIN!! Loosen or pull the inlet fuel line off and put rag over line. Some fuel injected vehicles have a fuel rail the has a valve that looks like a tire valve. Put a rag over this valve and push it in with a small screw driver and have someone crank motor a couple of times to see if fuel is coming out.

If NO Spark---Could be a lot of things Points (older vehicles) Modules, Coils, Crank Sensors, ECT......

If NO Fuel---- Could be Clogged fuel filter, Fuel Pump, Fuel pump Relay, Fuse, ECT..........

Hope this helps you ??

How do you replace an ignition coil on a 1996 ford escort

Depends on if it a 1.9 or a 1.8. The 1.9 is simple, follow the coil wire coming out of the distrubuter thats not going to a spark plug and remove the wire from the coil the electrical connerter that has two small wires and the bolts that hold the bracket to the cylinder head. on the work bench saparate the bracket from the coil and put it on the new coil then bolt it on the engine then plug in the wires and go. The 1.8 is the Mazda derived motor and the coil is inside the distrubuter heald on with 2 bolts and nuts and 2 bolted on wire connections. Be careful as the parts are expensive and seldom fail so the parts store may have to sell you the whole expensive distrubutor to get it going. Coils selodom fail. You did'nt ask what to do if you don't have spark. the coil is unlikly to be the cause on an engine that ran OK last time you drove it. Timing belt breaking and the cam and dist. not turning, are real common.
