DTC C0561 71: System Disabled Information Stored
The electronic brake control module (EBCM) disables the traction control when other electronic control modules set DTCs for components that effect the operation of the traction control system.
The powertrain control module (PCM) or body control module (BCM) diagnose a condition preventing the engine traction control and sends a serial data message to the EBCM indicating that torque reduction is not allowed. The PCM or BCM will typically set a DTC and the EBCM will set this DTC.

DTC P0014: Exhaust Camshaft Position (CMP) System Performance
The camshaft position (CMP) actuator is attached to each camshaft and is hydraulically operated in order to change the angle of the camshaft relative to crankshaft position (CKP). The CMP actuator solenoid is controlled by the control module. The control module sends a pulse width modulated 12-volt signal to a CMP actuator solenoid. The solenoid controls the amount of engine oil flow to a CMP actuator. The CMP actuator can change the camshaft angle a maximum of 25 degrees. The control module increases the pulse width to accomplish the desired camshaft operation.

You can also purchase a shorter belt designed for ?the same vehicle without A/C option.should be a belt diagram for both options under ?the hood. Hope that helps

I have a 2006 trailblazer that is running super rough at idle. Code P0014 keeps coming up and we have replaced almost every sensor possible


GM issued a bulletin in regards to this code being set. The 2006 Trailbazer was included in it. In some cases the engine has had to be replaced due to excessive crankshaft end play.

Here is the bulletin. I would suggest you contact GM. They are aware of this problem.

Models:2005-2006 Buick Rainier 2005-2006 Chevrolet TrailBlazer 2005-2006 GMC Envoy 2005-2006 Saab 9-7x with 4.2L Engine (VIN S - RPO LL8)


The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:
On rare occasions, a rough idle may be encountered with a P0014 and/or P0017 DTC. Due to the rough idle, a P0106 DTC may be stored too. This concern may be due to debris in the camshaft actuator system, which may be caused by a missing camshaft actuator solenoid screen or a worn crankshaft thrust bearing. Typically, this is the result of a camshaft actuator solenoid concern. If this is due to a worn crankshaft thrust bearing, some customers may also comment on a drive belt noise.

Recommendation/Instructions:
If this concern is encountered, follow the SI diagnostics and repair as necessary. If the SI diagnostics do not isolate the cause of this concern, ensure that camshaft actuator solenoid screens 1, 2, and 3 are in place as shown below:

(1)Screen for Advance Pressure to Camshaft Actuator(2)Screen for Pressurized Oil from Oil Pump(3)Screen for ****** Pressure to Camshaft ActuatorIf any of these screens are missing, replace the camshaft actuator solenoid, change the engine oil and filter, and evaluate the concern.

If all these screens are present, measure the crankshaft end play to determine if it is within the specification of 0.0044" - 0.0153" (0.112 - 0.388 mm). Typically, if excessive crankshaft end play is causing this concern, it will be obviously out of specification by .050" or more. If crankshaft end play is within specification, replace the camshaft actuator solenoid.

If the crankshaft end play is obviously out of specification, inspect the engine block for damage due to contact with the crankshaft. If engine block damage is present, contact the PQC (Product Quality Center) at 1-866-654-7654 for engine replacement authorization.

If there is no engine block damage present, disassemble the engine and inspect the following components for damage due to thrust bearing debris in the engine oil: all bearings, all journals, all valvetrain components, all timing components, and the crankshaft

Then, estimate what it will cost to replace the oil pump, camshaft actuator solenoid, all damaged parts, and to completely disassemble the engine to thoroughly clean all of the cylinder head and engine block oil galleys with oil galley brushes and soapy water.

After the repair estimate is complete, estimate what it would cost to replace the engine and contact the PQC to review these estimates as outlined in 02-07-30-029F.

Important: On 2006 models with excessive crankshaft end play, please submit a field product report by following 02-00-89-002D.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.

Looking for a 2.2 ecotec timing chain diagram with pictures


Getting the timing chain back on these engines can be tricky and requires more than just a diagram to get right. Here is how the timing chain should be reinstalled. Keep in mind that this engine can cause damage to the valves if the timing chain has any problems while the engine is running so it may not be a bad idea to setup the timing system as follows and do a compression test to make sure that everything is in order there.
Install the crankshaft sprocket with timing mark at the 5 o'clock position. Lower the timing chain through the opening in the top of the cylinder head. Carefully ensure that the chain goes around both sides of the cylinder block bosses (See 1 & 2 in picture): http://gsi.xw.gm.com/image_en_us/gif/000/000/412/412535.gif

Install the intake camshaft sprocket with the INT diamond at the 2 o'clock position. Hand tighten a NEW intake camshaft sprocket bolt. Route the timing chain around the crankshaft sprocket with the matching colored link aligning with the timing mark. Install the timing chain tensioner guide through the opening in the top of the cylinder head. Tighten the timing chain tensioner guide bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in): http://gsi.xw.gm.com/image_en_us/gif/000/000/412/412160.gif

Install the exhaust camshaft sprocket with the timing chain matching colored link (3) at EXH triangle aligned at the 10 o'clock position: http://gsi.xw.gm.com/image_en_us/gif/000/000/466/466570.gif

Ensure the timing marks and the colored links (1,2,3) are correctly aligned: http://gsi.xw.gm.com/image_en_us/gif/000/002/003/2003412.gif

Use a 24 mm wrench to rotate the camshaft slightly, until exhaust sprocket aligns with the camshaft. Hand tighten the NEW exhaust camshaft sprocket bolt: http://gsi.xw.gm.com/image_en_us/gif/000/000/412/412536.gif

Install the fixed timing chain guide. Tighten the fixed timing chain bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in): http://gsi.xw.gm.com/image_en_us/gif/000/000/412/412165.gif

Apply sealant, GM P/N 12378521 (Canadian P/N 88901148) compound to thread and install the timing chain guide bolt access hole plug. Tighten the chain guide plug to 90 N·m (66 lb ft): http://gsi.xw.gm.com/image_en_us/gif/000/000/412/412164.gif

Install the timing chain upper guide. Tighten the timing chain upper guide bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in): http://gsi.xw.gm.com/image_en_us/gif/000/000/412/412167.gif

Inspect the timing chain tensioner. If the timing chain tensioner, O-ring seal, or washer is damaged, replace the timing chain tensioner. Measure the timing chain tensioner assembly from end to end. A new tensioner should be supplied in the fully compressed non-active state. A tensioner in the compressed state will measure 72 mm (2.83 in) (a) from end to end. A tensioner in the active state will measure 85 mm (3.35 in) (a) from end to end.

****If the timing chain tensioner is not in the compressed state, perform the following steps. Remove the piston assembly from the body of the timing chain tensioner by pulling it out. Set the J 45027-2 (2) into a vise. Install the notch end of the piston assembly into the J 45027-2 (2). Using the J 45027-1 (1), turn the ratchet cylinder into the piston: http://gsi.xw.gm.com/image_en_us/gif/000/000/797/797246.gif

Inspect the bore of the tensioner body for dirt, debris, and damage. If any damage appears, replace the tensioner. Clean dirt or debris out with a lint free cloth. Install the compressed piston assembly back into the timing chain tensioner body until it stops at the bottom of the bore. Do not compress the piston assembly against the bottom of the bore. If the piston assembly is compressed against the bottom of the bore, it will activate the tensioner, which will then need to be reset again. At this point the tensioner should measure approximately 72 mm (2.83 in) (a) from end to end. If the tensioner does not read 72 mm (2.83 in) (a) from end to end repeat the steps required to return it to it's compressed state above.

Install the timing chain tensioner. Tighten the timing chain tensioner to 75 N·m (55 lb ft). Use a suitable tool with a rubber tip on the end. Feed the tool down through the camshaft drive chant to rest on the timing chain. Use a 24 mm wrench to hold the camshaft. Tighten the NEW camshaft bolts to 85 N·m (63 lb ft) plus 30 degrees: http://gsi.xw.gm.com/image_en_us/gif/000/000/630/630311.gif

There are no alignment marks on the camshafts, you must use the camshaft holder tool T40005 in conjunction with the crankshaft holder tool 3242 to properly align the camshaft and crankshaft

CAUTION: Incorrect removal or installation of the timing belt can result in damage to internal engine components.

there are no marks, special tools are needed when replacing the timing belt.

Where is the camshaft position sensor on a 2006 isuzu i280


You probably need a camshaft position actuator solenoid. 12597025 is the gm part number and its on the passenger side of cylinder head at the front of engine. They gave trouble when they first came out with this engine on this gm built truck. See www.myisuzuparts.com for a picture.

As best I can tell, it is a flat area machined into the cams of a dual overhead cam GM V6 engine. These flat areas are used to align the (4) camshafts during timing belt installation. I found a link on the web which details timing procedures, with photos. There also appears to be special tools required for this procedure.
