Question about 1983 Ford Crown Victoria

1 Answer

The cars timing seems to be the problem. Sometimes it starts and other times it turns over but does not start and sounds like the timing is off.

Does the engine seem to struggle (like a low battery) when you turn it over. Does the speed of the engine alternate between fast and slow when you turn it over?

Car will sometimes turn over, but not start, sometimes starts first go, no fuel seems to be getting through pipes whenits not starting

Pull the fuse and relay. Put them back in. If it quits, the problem was corrosion. It if continues, next time it won't start. Hit the fuel tank near the center a couple times. If it starts up, replace the fuel pump. Filter also.

My ford mondeo wont start . I drove it no problems parked up went back to it 1 hour later and would not start. It sounds like no compression. I've checked cams no breaks timing chain seems tight

yes the timing belt seems ok but get someone to turn engine over and make sure they turn because sometimes the teeth come off the belt at the bottom pulley so although it appears ok it may not be the case and when this happens they go as the engine stops .

For the past few months the "Check Engine" light

This doesn't sound like an alternator problem at all, It sounds like an EGR issue or vapor lock issue.

My sebring sometimes won't start even though it

Sounds like a faulty fuel pump. Next time it doesn't start have someone listen with their head right above the gas tank. When you turn the key to "on" pos, without trying to turn it over, they should be able to hear the pump spin.

This Too Is A Starter Problem, If >>The Battery Terminals Are Clean <<And >>The Starter Terminals Are Clean and TIGHT <<,I Would Wait Till It Wont Start Again and SMACK THE STARTER 2-3 times with a HAMMER then Try Starting it. If It Starts then it is The Starter. I KNOW this seems A Little UNCONVENTIONAL BUT For 30 Years This Technique Has Diagnosed HUNDREDS of STARTER Problems for me.

F150 ignition (won't Start)

If it turns over but just won't fire and the timing sounds fine when it does run you might consider your ignition switch.  Does it sound like it wants to fire but only just when you let go of the key?
