Dangerous area.... each end is held on by a clip to the body or brake caliper. That gets slid out, then at the ends of the hose is a flat part for a wrench. There is a small compression nut you must unscrew while holding the hose via that slot on metal end. After you replace the hose you MUST bleed the brakes. There is a brake bleeder valve towards the top of the brake caliper. If you don't know how to correctly bleed brakes, this is a job for an expert. Air in the lines will make your brakes on that side useless !

Some auto aprts store carries them bu you can buy them from Gm around $30.00 you you replace them be sure you do not let it have and have a second person press on the pedal gently to pus fluid threw it brfore hooking it up then hookt to the caliper and bleed this will save you a lot of headaches.

What is a abs modular on a Escalade Cadillac?

Jesse, The module will not stop fluid to rear brakes, a bad master cylinder will, leaking lines, air in brake system, faulty metering block if equipped, collapsed flex lines or pinched brake line faulty caliper or brake cylinders, etc. will cause the possible feeling of no rear brakes.
(ABS Module components) the ABS speed sensors and the ABS control module . When the brake is applied, the ABS control module reads the speed data from the speed sensor and sends the correct pressure to each wheel to prevent any wheel lock up, eg. sliding/skidding Links below have more info.

It should not be a mystery. Loosen one of the fittings on your new line to see if brake fluid is present. If so, the problem lies downstream from that point! Good luck!

YOU NEED A SCAN TOOL TO BLEED BRAKES.THE SCAN TOOL REACTIVATE HYDRALIC BRAKE MOTOR.YOU CAN RAISE VECHICLE WHEELS OFF GROUND SUPPORT SECURE SAFELY. ALLOW DRIVE WHEEL SPIN 5 MILES AN HOUR WHILE VECHICLE OFF GROUND THE WHEEL SENSORS WHILE WHEELS SPINNING WILL ACTIVATE ABS HYDRALIC MOTOR TO BUILD UP BRAKE FLUID PRESSURE.THEN LOWER VECHICLE TO GROUND.MAKE SURE MASTER CYLINDER BRAKE FLUID LEVEL CORRECT THEN BLEED BRAKES IF BRAKE DONT FEEL FIRM OR SOLID DONT DRIVE HAVE VECHICLE TOWED IN.GARAGE WILL HAVE TO USE SCANNER TO BLEED BRAKES.

My abs & brake lights go on & off brake pedal seems soft brake fluid - ok, no leaks, has new brake lines, slamming on the brakes locks 'em up. no abs, right? 2000 gmc jimmy 4.3

Sounds like you might have air in the brake system. You will need to bleed the brakes to remove air. Start with the passenger back wheel. use a small hose and submerge the end in a glass bottle filled 1/3 full of brake fluid. The other end goes on the nipple of the brake bleeder. Have someone pump the brakes and then hold the pedal down then loosen the bleeder. then tighten the bleeder. you should see bubbles in the brake fluid. Keep repeating this procedure until you see no bubbles. You might have to put as much as 1 quart of brake fluid thru each wheel to remove air. Then you do the driver side rear followed bypassenger side front and finally driver side front

Driver side brake not bleeding properly after bleeding left side and changing rotors, calipers, and pads?

first of all make sure master cylinder is full of brake fluid.then you crank car leave foot off brake pedal. watch abs light on dash it should turn off in 10 seconds if not have car towed to garage or dealer. they have to use a scanner to scan the abs brakes if abs light turn off in 3 seconds. then starting bleeding from master bleed the lower brake line fitting at the proportional valve followed by the upper brake line fitting. keep eye on brake fluid in mastercylinder dont let run dry.next prime the abs hydralic modulator.connect the bleeder hose to the rear bleeder valve on the modulator.place the other end into a container partially filled with cleab brake fluid.make sure the end of the hose is submerged.open the bleeder valve slowly about 1/2 to 3/4 turn have an assistant depress the brake pedal and hold it in the depressed position. when the flow of fluid ceases close the bleeder valve.repeat process until no air bubbles are present in the fluid.then tighten the bleed valve securely. start bleeding brakes. your bleeding sequence is right rear - left front - left rear - right front.WARNING IF ALL FAILS YOUR BRAKES DONT FEEL SOLID AND FEEL VERY SPONGY.DONT DRIVE CAR. HAVE IT TOWED TO DEALERSHIP.THEY WILL HAVE TO PRESSURE BLEED YOUR BRAKE SYSTEM.

How to determine if 97 Ram 1500 has 2- or 4- 2wheel brakes? Need info for wheel bearing replacement.

on 1997 dodge ram 1500s you can look at the back of the front brakes and if you do have 4wheel abs you will have a brake line and an electrical line running tto the brake caliper. you can also look at the master cylinder, on the right side of the power brake booster (if youre looking from the front of the truck) there will be a metal brake distribution block if it has 2 lines running out of it you have 2 wheel abs...4 lines means 4 wheel abs

Brake fluid leak on driver side rear wheel, anti-lock brakes area

you should be looking for the drivers side wheel (brake) cylinder it is inside the drum with the brakes at the top usually, look at the cylinder on each end there is a small black rubber cap, pull it back a little in one spot and see if brake fluid runs out, if so replace it. Also possible that the brake line is leaking, so check it out too.
