You might be lucky and it may be the head gasket. My son's '97 ford six had air bubbling out of the expansion tank. A new head gasket cured it. If it was an intake manifold problem, I'd expect coolant to be sucked into the engine. hope this helps...

Somewhat involved, and specific to each engine and car. I suggest you buy a repair manual at a parts store (Haynes' manuals are pretty good-$26.00). Or you could go to autozone.com and register there, giving your car and year and model. They have some free repair procedures, specific to your model, that might help you.
