OK I have a 95 Chevy caprice there is a hole where my trunk lock is suppose to be, I bought the part to put in a new lock but I need to get in the trunk I cannot open it at all I need help

- Look at the part you bought to see what motion will be activated to release the trunk lid once it is installed.
- Look into the hole to see where that motion will happen, and find the piece that will get moved.
- Use a screwdriver or bend a small piece of metal so that you can reach the triggering mechanism.
- Press down on the trunk lid to reduce pressure on the latch mechanism, and move the release linkage appropriately.
- Should pop open.

Driver's side door latch won't budge once closed. Locked or unlocked the outer handle acts like the door is locked. Any suggestions?

The outer handle has a spring to return it built into the handle I think, so the fact that it returns does not mean it isn't disconnected inside the door. Time for a shop I think (are the replacement switches really $500? Might check with a parts store instead of dealer to see if they can supply that part.)

2003 mitsubishi climate control stuck

Follow the cable.. It's the white piece that the cable connects to. Some kind of spring doesnt push the white piece forward far enough to select a hot temperature. You can adjust it yourself from the driver's seat at a red light. It feels like flat lever against the dash/transmission tunnel. Push forward for heat, pull back for AC. There's a spring busted or something and the knob can't overcome the required force... Just manipulate it manually. You can see the white lever mechanism clear as day if you open the driver's door, crouch down and look for the big white piece. My guess is that it has a internal tensioner or spring that crapped out.

How do I clean out the a/c heather blower fan on my 2004 Envoy, when I turn the fan on it makes a nosie and the higher I raise the fan level the louder it is and vibrates the car. It reminds me of a stick...

Empty your glove box and drop the lid down (upside down). There is a little metal spring loaded piece on the lower left hand side of the glove box. Push or pull this and your lid will fall down. There you have have complete access to the top of the blower motor. Maybe a leaf that is stuck in the grate? No need for any tools, just your fingers.

I have a loose wiper arm on the drivers side of my 2003 Ford Explorer. It engages but it will not wipe the windshield as it is not right up against the windshield.

If it is the actual wiper arm itself that is loose there is a little plastic cover at the base of the arm, It should pop off easy enough, then using a socket wrench just tighten up that nut if it's loose.

The other issue may be the wiper arm spring. Parts store usually have springs which can be added onto the arm for a little more force on the windshield, to help out some older worn springs.

2005 altima Tried to replace dome light blub and fuse blew cannot find fuse also shifter will not go into gear after car is started.

Most often the battery cables as they connect to the battery get dirty and they can look clean and not make it so clean them anyway. If the car was jumped started wrong the main fuse can be blown and no power gets to the dash. Test light at the big power wire on the back of the altenator if its dead it's not going to start or light any of the dash lights either.

Please I will advice you take this vehicle for a scan and not to do a guess work on it.

Cheers.

Jetta 2003, trunk won't lock

More than likely the spring inside the latch has come undone. To save some money you can remove the latch from the trunk, open the latch and reset the spring. To Remove the latch you will need to remove the carpeted cover on the trunk lid (there are about 10-15 phillips screws holding it on.) Once the cover is off disconnect the rod going to the latch by opening up the clip thats connected to the actuator. Disconnect the wire harness, Remove the 2 10mm Nuts holding the latch to the lid. Remove the black plastic cover on the latch and remove the electrical piece (the plastic cover wraps over the latch and is secured buy 2 plastic pressure snaps). Look down into the latch and you should see a small spring...on my Jetta the spring wasn't connected. take a small pointed object ( I used a light tester) and reattch the spring to the black hook. Mine had some broken plastic in it and After I removed that it worked fine. Once the spring is back into place reassemble the trunk and you should be good to go. No money spent, and it only takes about a half hour or 45 mins to do.
