It must have lost gas or spark, so start there.
Do you hear the fuel pump turn on with key turned to ON? It should turn on for 2 seconds to put pressure in the lines and the fuel rail. If unsure, check fuel pressure and see if at specs. Or try spraying some starter fluid into the intake and see if that causes the engine to run for a few seconds- if it does, then you know it was a gas problem like a failed pump.
If fuel pressure is good, check for spark at one of the spark plugs. You need to see a blue, snapping spark to verify the ignition system is working properly. If no spark, test the Ignition Control Module. Parts stores will test them for free. If the ICM is good, suspect the crank position sensor. This sensor tells the engine computer when to signal for spark, so if the sensor has failed, you will not have ignition spark.

Ez go electric golf cart

Need to check to see if the cart has a "resistor" style speed control. Older models will possible have this. It could be a bad resistor. Remember the old slot car controllers. Look closely at the pedal assembly. If it has a plug, disconnect it and see if the resistance between pins varies with pedal position and if you hit a dead spot.

Be careful to unplug batteries. 36V- 48V battery packs have a lot of power.

YAMAHA OLF CART GASOLINE OPERATED CHARGED BATTERY WHENi TURN KEY ON AND TRY TO GO IT WONT MOVE AND A SLIGHT WHINE

Check the starter solenoid, but sounds like the starter is bad. If it is draining the battery when you try to start it, then it is the starter. Check for a bad ground first though. The starte requires a great deal of amperage and a weak ground could be the problem.

Doesn't turn over or start

Five most likely causes 1. dead battery 2. faulty starter cylinoid 3. faulty ignition switch 4.loose connection at any of the points5 faulty starter relay. the battery can be removed and taken to most any parts store and checked. likewise with the starter/cylinoid. checking for loose or bad connections is pretty self explanatory. move from connection to connection and check for loose connections or corrosion. once you know your battery and starter are in working order (you should only be into this project for your time at this point) you can check your ignition switch and starter relays with a voltmeter and/or test light to identify where the current is stopping. hope this helps good luck!

The cart wont click over dont know anything bout cars so i need to find out if my starter or my alternator went out and sure my battery i need a new one because the car used to click over till we hooked up...

First if the jumper cables were hooked up backwards you could have killed your battery, which was probably dead to begin with. Get a new one then try and start. If it doesnt look more into the ignition switch than the starter. Alternator has nothing to do with starting, it could be bad and not charging the battery but will not cause your car not to start.

Starter

you can replace the cylinoid, but I prefer to change the whole thing specially that it seems like starter drag when you buy the new starter the cylinoid will be built on the new starter,if you change the cylinoid itself, and you still need a starter youll have to buy the starter and cylinoid as one unit, and they wont take the cylinoid back that you broke, but either way I would pull the starter and bring it down to an autozone and have it checked for free,if this helps please give me a fix ya
