If you're replacing a flat tire... you can place the jack just in front of the back tire that is flat, there is a suspension rod maybe 2.5 feet long mounting has 1 bolt holding the rod. just past the mounting you have a full Metal frame pick a flat spot just past the bolt. make sure you use something to keep the vehicle from rolling forward.

Where do I place the jack for the rear tire on 2004 GMC Envoy XL? The directions look like they want me to place it behind the tire underneath? I can can't find a location to place the jack?

The jack goes under the rear axle shaft tube halfway between the anti sway bar bracket and the suspension spring. The diagram is in the owner's manual under section 5

When I switch my 2005 envoy xl into all whell drive and then drive, when I get out it smells like burnt rubber. It does not smell like that when in 2wd. What could it be?

You can't use 4 wheel on dry or even wet pavement. It must be snow dirt gravel or mud. Pavement will just burn up your tires because the front Axel pulls faster than the rear. When you have good grip there is a friction fight between front and rear tires.

How to take a spare tire off gmc envoy 2004

Since the spare is mounted under the rear of the car, Its not easy...you have to assemble the long crank rod out of its two pieces, then feed the rod through the hole in the top of the rear bumper and lock it into the mechanism that holds the tire in place. Once the crank rod is locked in, lower the tire towards the ground. Once the tire is low enough, you can crawl under the car and release the tire from its mount. The hardest part is locking the crank rod into the spare tire mechanism through the hole in the bumper.

You need to dig out the jack and tools .. The spare is held in place by a cable winch that needs to be cranked down.

Removing rear air suspension on GMC Envoy

Just behind right rear tire up in the wheel well. Air inlet is inside right rear quarter near the accessory inflator. Compressor runs 3 lines one for the accessory inflator and one for each air bag.
THere are also 2 sensors, one on each trailing arm that senses load and then raises and lowers accordingly.
