I have a 2004 chevy tb 4x4, l6 eng. sometimes my brakes when depressed, will feel like gravil. what could it be? tu vic

Why are your brakes depressed? Can you cheer them up by telling them a joke or two?

Seriously, your brakes are probably metal-to-metal because the brake linings (or pads) or worn off completely. Can you tell whether the sensation is coming from any particular wheel? If so, jack up that corner, take the wheel off and inspect the brakes!

On a 2004 chevy tb ls 4x4, what is an air-spring? tu

It is a heavy duty rubber bladder that goes where the steel spring would go. It performs the same function as a regular spring but because it is air filled you can adjust the pressure which will change the ride height and load carrying abilities on demand

GM instrument clusters 2003 - 2006 had problems with gauge stepper motors . Having the vehicle hooked up to a professional grade or factory scan tool that can view this kind of data would be necessary ! This information comes from the PCM/ECM - engine computer over the class 2 serial data bus or network communications .

I have a 2004 chevy tahoe and can't figure out how to put it in 4x4 during this bad weather!

Depending on if you have a push button, switch activated, or manual shift type 4x4 system they are generally the same. Transfer in 4x4 high can generally be made at any time that you're not traveling at highway speeds or faster by simply moving/pressing the selector switch/lever/button to the position indicated as 4x4 high. If you are wanting to use 4x4 low this transfer has to be made while the vehicle is stationary, wheels straight, vehicle in neutral and brake depressed. Note that the use of 4x4 low is only recommended for the most extreme driving conditions and should only be operated at low speeds.
