2002 Dodge SX 2.0 I'm getting a howling or ( high frequency vibration of some type) noise from the front end when in motion. Lessens when steering is pointed left of center. No howling when at a...

The first thing I would check is for a bad wheel bearing. If the noise lessens when turning left than I would look at the left front first. Chalk the rear wheels or set the emergency brake. Put the transmission in neutral. Jack up the left side of the car. Grab the coil spring and rotate the tire by hand. If you can feel/hear the noise than your on the right track with the bad wheel bearing. I can give you instructions on how to replace if you need them.

Front right headlamp connector has shortened out and melted. need to replace

Yes, that happens. A resistance casuses the spring tension to lessen, and the resistance goes up. Splice in a new connector, and a new headlight and you should be good to go.

High fuel consumption

Hi There,

If you are wanting to lessen the high fuel consumption you must do the following.
1 - Over-Reving is a big no no. Keep the revs between 2 and 4 thousand rpm. (it is highly easy to over rev so lessen the throttle)
2 - You can buy a product called octane booster. The higher the octane in the fuel tank the better for your car. To use insert into fuel tank as you would a bowser nozzle and release amount of octane as per product intructions prior to filling up with petrol, then add petrol after. This ensures proper mixing of octane throughout tank.

Hope this helps

I have a 2004 rx330 and when I take off after about 10mph there is a constant roar sounds like the transmission is not shifting. However the tranny is shifting fine it seems to be coming from the drivers...

sounds to me like either the drive shaft axle bearing is wearing out or the rear end gear on the left side uis going out. check the rear end for gear oil level if its low that could mean your rear end is about to go out.

Loud Vibration at all speeds

A couple things here. 1.) You either have a tire out of balance. 2.) You need an alignment 3.) You have a tie rod getting ready to go. You can check the tie rod by jacking up one side and if you can wiggle the tire back and forth you have a bad inner tie rod. If you can wiggle the tire (hands at 12 and 6) and wiggle the tire in and out you have bad ball joints. The first two you will need to take it in to a shop and have them check your tires and alignment. Also you may want to have the shop check your wheel bearings. I hope this gives you some direction. Thanks for using FixYa!
